ABC News: Obama lead in our poll is a "danger sign"
If anybody has any doubt about where Jake Tapper, George Stephanopoulus and the ABC news division stands in this election the following doublespeak article should disabuse them as Tapper takes a 6 point polling lead for Obama and turns it into an GOP attack piece on Obama.

Truly an amazing fiddle faddle even from the most pro-GOP of the major broadcast networks.

"Barack Obama has emerged from his bruising battle for the Democratic presidential nomination with only a six point lead over Sen. John McCain and claiming his Republican rival has been getting a "pass" from the media.

A ABC News/Washington Post poll shows Obama, D-Ill., leading McCain, R-Ariz., by a margin of 48 percent to 42 percent. It is a surprisingly small lead considering that the incumbent Republican president George Bush is at record lows and public opinion overwhelmingly feels the country is on the "wrong track".

The poll indicates that Obama did not get the traditional "bounce" in the public's opinion by finally defeating Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and getting her endorsement as the Democratic presidential candidate."

4. When * "won" in 2004 with 0.5% over Kerry, the MSM allowed him to
call his election a "mandate". Different standards for different candidates.

5. Funny, they didn't say the same about McCain after he locked up the GOP nomination.
He still trailed in national polls when he locked up the nomination. McCain had the entire stage for MONTHS and his largest lead was like 3 points nationally.

It's just not big enough!! If he doesn't lead by twenty points, what does it say about Obama?? He's DOOOOOMED!!!

9. Didn't jake tapper use to
report facts? Or am I remembering wrong? Anyway, they're trying to manipulate the news and get mccain in so they can have all the monopoly they want.

The problem is, though..who do they think is going to have the money to go to their fascist amusement parks?

abc is just pissed 'cause they can't have all the debate money.

19. You're remembering wrong.
When he was covering the 2000 race for Salon, he was one of the worst offenders against Gore. I was really disappointed in Salon for letting him get away with the crap he did under the guise of "reporting".

10. A black guy with a funny name who nobody ever heard of eight months ago
is running against the long-time most famous, beloved, respected and honored POW/war hero/independent maverick Senator in the country, and the black guy with a funny name nobody ever heard of is 6 POINTS AHEAD and he's not doing well. Hmmm.

The general election race is in its 3rd week and Obama is already ahead without considerable effort.

Silly ABC.

13. When the lead starts widening, they'll segue right back into the "cult" accusations again.
Sooner or later the American public is going to get wise to the standard operating procedure here. They're going to start putting two and two together and remember how the media gushed over Fred Thompson as the dream candidate and how EVERY EVENT was spun as good news for Giuliani (remember those two?). They're going to become more and more aware that even though this is undeniably an historic situation—our first black candidate with a serious shot at winning— the media is saying with a straight face that his lead is only 6 points?

This sounds like the media deliberately lowering expectations for McCain, to me, by unrealistically raising the bar for Obama. Someday, somewhere, they will be shamed by their behavior. I hope and pray.

Disney is virtually owned by the Saudis who are the ones who want us in Iraq for at least 100 years.

23. Oh, that's nothing.. last night Tweety called that poll "essentially dead even, given the "Bradley
Effect".. and surmised that voters were telling pollsters what they wanted to hear and not what they'd do in the voting booth.

Unfreakinbelievable.
