Edited on Wed Jun-18-08 04:27 PM by TeamJordan23
Looks like her appearance is causing quite a buzz. Expect this to sell out quickly

Michelle's Dress

A reader who wore the same dress to her graduation sends in a link to the dress Michelle Obama wore for her well-reviewed View performance today.

It's a just bit more mass-market, and affordable, than the clothes most public figurse of both sexes wear: You can buy it online from Donna Ricco, the designer, for $99.

7. I was at a party in Dallas....
and was introduced to Michael-somebody.

He was introduced as "The Guy Who Dresses Laura Bush".

I choked on my Martini (Bombay Sapphire, up with a twist).

Unfortunately, for one of the few times in my life, I was utterly speechless. I simply stood there and laughed.

8. Someone posted about the competing styles of Mrs. W
and Mrs, Obama and I remarked that if Mrs. O didn't have innate fashoin sense (which I think she does) she'd have the good sense to hire a stylist.

I suppose Mrs. W does look stylish among her uber-WASP, gated country club, expansive lawns and big, big hair crowd.

But to think she actually pays someone to do that? :wow:

16. I once escorted my Mother to a party in Dallas...
at some tony Country Club.

My Mother is a bomb-throwing liberal. And drop-dead gorgeous, size 0.

The whole way there, she was moaning about having to go to an event attended by all of these tight-ass Republican women.

When we got there, we were greeted by one of the women who organized the thing. Said woman greeted us with, "Well, Dorothy, it is so good to see you. We were wondering if you would make it. And please pardon the state of the ballroom, but there is a HUGE remodel going on".

Mom coolly scanned the room, looking at all those Republican women and replied, "Well, at least we know what they did with the drapes".

13. Vodka is for drinking straight-up.
Heck, I can't even get a buzz from vodka.

Never have, unless I drink about half a fifth. Then I tend to do things that find their way into the local newspaper.

I find that a couple of martinis or gin-and-tonics are a great gateway for a bottle or two of Cabernet.

27. Republican wives are supposed to be dowdy and ugly
And lack selfrespect and individual thought. Mistresses over the age of 18 are supposed to be bright, bubbly, stupid, and submissive. Unless they are boys of course.

Seriously though, that's pretty cool that this is making a stir. It's a cool dress :D

55. For just $99, maybe we all can aspire to be elitists someday.
Seriously pretty, but not my style.

Don't get me wrong - I wish it were, but I've always leaned more toward Marily Monroe (in body style) than Jackie.

Part of the differece between fashion and style, I believe, is knowing what suits you, not some model. Michelle obviously does and seems very comfortable with herself. That's a good example to set for your daughters.
