Are you an AVERAGE person?
It is obvious that politicians, pundits, and anyone who thinks they are important when it comes to politics loves to talk about the "average person". Somehow the "average person" is stupid and is unimformed and has to seak out these bobble-headed, tele-prompted readers to know how to think and to analyse information. This "average person" meme is the most irritating thing... might as well say, "the good little sheep" or the "good little slaves". It drives me nuts how they who sit around D.C. decide how we think and what we should think.

1. Until we take it back - I'm afraid that
this type of "branding" will continue. When are the rest of the sheeple going to wake up? It's funny, but every time I watch these sanctimonious assholes, I feel that their time is reaching it's shelf life. There are so many people I talk to now that are more forthcoming that they don't believe over half of what they hear now. Now, where's my pitchfork?

2. its infuriating.
I've got my garden tools ready and waiting. As well as a few ripe tomatoes I'd be willing to give to the cause of ruining a few suits.

3. I don't think there are any AVERAGE people on DU. I certainly don't
mean that in a derogatory way at all. I can't tell you how many people I've talked to, who actually THINK they're paying attention to politics and what's going on every day, who never hear about critical bills in Congress, don't know the real movers and shakers in both houses of Congress, can't tell you why they are voting FOR somebody (they always give you the I'm voting AGAINST Shrub story), never hear the facts that aren't really pushed on TV like the mean & nasty things McNut said to his wife that was ravealed in "The Real McCain" book. I could go on & on, but you understand what I mean. I do the best I can and always pick out the most shocking things first, but without calling the "average person" stupid, which I don't believe at all, I will say there are a HUGH number of uninformed people in this Country.

9. No person is just average. Each person is gifted in something or excels at something..
even if it seems as ordinary as being a good parent or baking cookies.... Everyone has something to offer this world.. by "averaging" people.. its telling people that they are not worthy of participating in making this country what it is or what it could be... I think the "un-average" have fucked up enough.. and its time that we take our country back... Common Sense is deperately needed in D.C... the spin is making many nauseous.

I'm exceedingly unique... downright weird about some things... rarely do I agree with the larger crowds on ANYTHING.

Good little sheep... yup... Good Germans... ugh.

Here's an interesting thought: I'm betting most of us are on the right of this curve... and those remaining on the right are on the left of this curve:)

6. No I'm not an "average person"
every other person is "average" but I'm not. :P

Seriously that's bunch of infuriating crap, talkingheads sitting around feeling superior to the "average" guy and spewing about how he thinks and what he does. :argh: :puke:

10. deciding where to slice that last one at was the toughest decision I ever made
but the desire to fit the mold was too great, and I am too patriotic. I'm off to the mall to do my duty as a consumer.

11. Comparing myself to them, I don't mind.
Did you see the video where Mike Gravel says the federal government is like a cult? He makes a very good argument. So coming from them, being seen as an average person doesn't offend me too much.
