I just created a blog on Obama's page (also link to John Dean on Countdown YouTube)>>
I had a bit of a problem finding my way around, but I did it. I hope I can find it again.

I've read so many negative and angry messages here and on his page, too, that it really saddened me that people aren't being a bit more trusting -- well, anyway, since what I put there is public, I thought I'd share it here, as well. Everybody else is putting their 2 cents in.

First, I want to say to Sen Obama,

I've never been so proud to support a candidate in my life. (I guess that sounds like a plagiarism of Michelle's famous statement, but I said it before she did, just not in public :)) And I've been voting since 1968 in a very red Texas. I trust you enough to want you to be our President, and so, I certainly trust you to make the right decision about this FISA situation. When you say you are dedicated to restoring our Constitution and bringing justice back to our land, I believe you.

To all you people who have expressed so much anger, I'd like to offer you another way of thinking about this:

If we are going to support Sen Obama, as we have been and still do, we have to show him a little bit of confidence. Once he's in office, he will be able to take many more actions that will bring justice to things that he can't now. He's got to get elected first. If he's not facing enough from the Republicans and the media, he's got to deal with a bunch of angry people who are right ready to bail out if every detail isn't handled to meet their own personal approval. I'll wager he knows the Constitution a heck of a lot better than any of us - or at least the biggest majority of us. He can't fix the whole country with one freakin' vote when he's not even elected yet.

So, folks, give it a rest. This could be an overall strategy that Sen Obama could still prevail to see to that ultimate justice is done in the end. None of us can know the big picture. We really do have to give him some maneuvering room here.

I'm broke as anything, but I'm going to make a little donation tonight just because he needs to know we're with him and not making him walk some high wire tightrope. Com'on, people -- lighten up and give the man a chance. He hasn't failed us yet, and he won't.

I did make my donation. I'd ask you to join me.

By the way, if you didn't see John Dean on Countdown tonight, it's worth seeing. Here's the link:

1. From Grantcart's thread.......
Should there be another terrorist incident between now and November and this bill was not passed then the Republicans would very likely be able to completely change the existing public sentiment and effect the results of the General Election. This, I believe, is why the Democratic Leadership decided it was better to take the issue off the table now and address it again after the election.

2. Thanks -- glad to some aren't going off the deep end of hysteria>
I had noticed you were trying to dispell this panic, too. I think I posted inside one or two places, but when I looked on his webpage Community, I think I saw only one positive - the rest where downright mean! Looks like here might be about half and half I guess.
