Obama did not flip flop on the PRINCIPLE of public finanacing. . .
I am reading some here but much more in the MSM and pundit arenas, that Obama has flipflopped on public financing. . . I say BS!

Public financing was put in place to end certain questionable contributions from other than the public at large, right? Well Obama's contributors have not been those "concerning entities" that were being targeted way back when. If wasn't the amount of money that was the issue, it was from whom it came and what obligations might be expected in return. IF Obama's contributors had/are those types, I would agree that he flipflopped. Since however his have consistently John and Jane Doe contributions of modest amounts, I think that by opting out of "public financing" he is in fact embracing the ideal and principle of public financing even more than if he had taken the government payout. And in his case, so far, his only obligations are to the little guys and gals that are contributing to him in record numbers, OH! hey that's us, the public!

His choice is even more in line with the principles of public financing because now only those that intend to support him will support him, rather than taking from taxes which comes from everyone regardless of their personal choice, AND lets remember that it also means that some tax monies are not going to be dispersed to Obama leaving more in the coffers.

Now if he suddenly starts accepting questionable or concerning contributions, then I will agree and accept that I'm just stupid and naive; but for now I don't see this as a flip flop at all. I see it as a deeper commitment to the principle of public financing.

2. FISA is way more important an issue than accepting public financing.
