2. IT's invevitible
When Concern trolling ends up being heavily moderated, the average concern troll will take the first available opportunity to turn to purity trolling.

It's a blogological fact.

16. Oh, I could fill you in on
a hypocritical, purity troll who backed a certain candidate, who was far from pure, but that better not stop Obama from being more pure than Ivory freakin' soap:P

Thanks for this thread..you wrapped it up so well..Rec'd.

And, I'm not talkin' about fair criticism..I'm with the OP on this concern troll morphing into purity troll like magic.

4. I have never made a thread critical of Obama until today. It is not fair to call legitimate criticis
m of a stance of his 'trolling'.

You'd prefer us be in lockstep behind him and not challenge him when we think he does wrong?

35. Big difference between airing a legitimate gripe and promising to withold support.
Saying, "I'm disappointed in Obama for doing 'A', 'B', or 'not C'" is fine. Saying that "Obama is no different from a Republican", or "I can't vote for him", is just plain fucking ignorant.

That's all.

31. Right! Lockstep! Them's the worst kind!
Sometimes I wonder if the Liberal-----Moderate-----Conservative is a straight line or if the opposite ends bend toward each other. The Conservatives have their accusations of: "You must be a LIBERAL!" or, "Why do you hate America, you are no patriot!" On the opposite end we hear, "You are a DINO!" and "Why do you hate the Constitution!" Both ends are equally convinced that they are absolutely righteous and pure and refuse to consider any position to be right other than their own.

I consider Hugo Chavez a hero (Hell, deporting anyone tied to Pat Robertson is heroic enough in itself, let alone the substative changes that have been made in Venezuela under his watch): Obama wants him overthrown. That's sort of amusing, given that Chavez has won 5 national elections whereas Obama has won none. Reminds me of the King of Spain incident: I don't think the King has any right to stand in a political forum with Hugo given that Chavez was elected by 10,000,000 Venezuelans whereas Juan Carlos was appointed by one fascist dictator.

It's gotten on my nerves for quite a while. For some people there's no shades of gray, or settling for anything less than what they think is the absolutely most left-wing stance on issues. Those people make me sick.

28. Yes, it was.
Perhaps better to get it over with now.

I pointed this out because I saw in a couple of threads post stating that Clinton supporters were the ones doing this particular kind of trolling and were said to be just taking the opportunity to spread negativity. My close observation of what is going on here does not support that at all.

48. However, the bulk of the outrage over this issue has come from
the most ardent Obama supporters. Every post I have seen saying that they won't vote for him or will no longer give money have never been Obama bashers. While you may be right that there are still some O bashers around making hay out of this, the majority is not coming from that group.

57. You have that backwards.
Seems it's mostly Obama's original supporters that are telling people to chill out over it.

The ones throwing the biggest fits didn't support him to begin with, and the people that were willing to trash Clinton were either against both to begin with (trolls) or they're still in 'support' mode.

Where are these people you speak of?

51. Stop.
I was never fond of either him nor Clinton but since he was supposed to be so big on the constitution he got my support. I am pissed off and rightly so.

Oh, he will get my vote but I will be damned if anyone here says I cannot express my huge disappointment on the FISA issue. The constitution means a whole lot to me. I expect whoever is going to be president to follow it especially after the hell of the present administration.

This man has amazing powers of communication. He could craft an awesome speech re the fourth amendment and how this is a horrible bill and stating that a better one can be formed. He could start a dialog which he could get covered in the press. There are plenty of people on the other side who feel the same way re the constitution.

He could lead on this issue and yes, I am disappointed he has not. I certainly do not expect to agree with all of his policies. I think his health plan sucks but I can live with it. But when it comes to the constitution my expectations are a whole lot higher.

And fuck these purity threads. I won't walk in lockstep with any party when it goes against the principles this country was founded on. I will bitch about it, write letters, call my reps ad nauseum as any good American would.

they're going back

They're cold blooded disruptors for the most part, with a few exceptions

They just don't merit a response

People wanna get their panties in a bunch because a Democratic candidate acts like a Democratic candidate ALWAYS acts... then that's their issue

I've been voting against republicans my whole life

I supported Bill Clinton with flame throwers and refuted every attack no matter what

I did the same thing for Kerry and Gore

I don't love any of them... I'm more radical and left of center than most of the OUTRAGED "progressives" I see posting up in here...

You vote for the Democrat and lobby for progressive issues, but NOT DURING THE FUCKING ELECTION

Welcome to adult life

63. Yep.
Anyone that can't look at the last eight years and decide that we need to make every positive change possible, with the option for President as top priority, wouldn't even give a slightly neurotic cement block a run at checkers.

This is a time when, if one is not behind the Democratic candidate, they really are turning a blind eye to the damage that has been done to the country. One is, for all intents and purposes, just as complicit in the destruction of the country as any of the Democrats that have left us 'disenchanted'. Funny how people can demand that everyone do exactly the right thing, then turn around and refuse to make at least one effort for important, positive change.

Although most of it I don't buy.
