You Have Been Warned
I'm smiling. I love that Obama has gotten out in front of things by telling people that the repukes will attack in dirty ways and just what those ways will be. But, I have a question...

Do you think this was just to give people a head's up to recognize this stuff? Or, do you think it was a shot across McCain's bow? In other words, is he saying that if the 527's come hunting, he will turn well funded 527's on McCain, bringing out things he and Cindy just don't want to see smeared before the public?

1. Isn't Obama running a different kind of campaign than
what you have suggested? I believe "rising above the shit" was his premise to begin with.

5. Sometimes you rise above it....but if it gets way up there.....
sometimes you have to fly under the radar instead.

It's not an easy choice, but then politics is a blood sport, I've been told.

Oh well, it will make McCain tougher for the next time he runs.

12. He will fight back when they attack him
And that's how it should be.

2. I doubt it, though I wish it were so.

If it were up to me, I would get dirty and nasty with them. The Obama campaign has taken a much higher ground than I would. I, personally, would sell all my furniture and most of my (mostly costume) jewelry to fund a hard-core, but truthful 527 attack on McCain. On behalf of the people, of course, not speaking for the Obama campaign.

Edit: misspelled jewelry

7. Oh, I'm thinking the "innocent" road
In other words, just like McCain said something to the effect that he couldn't police everything put out there by groups not associated with him, blah, blah, the same thing could be done for Obama. He could do the "I denounce that". Obama knows that being above the fray can also lead to "defeated" at the polls. I don't think he's going to be dumb enough to do what others have done and let the repukes just march over his face in jackboots. All it takes is one push back that mortifies the McCains and we'll see how long the crap goes on.

8. Yup, I agree. Obama CAN stay above it all, while others
(like me) play dirty. He could "denounce" it and it would only make him look better. I know that he is perfectly capable of fighting back on his own (and I look forward to seeing more of it). Still, the corpwhoremedia is against us, and even if we will win without them, honestly, I just want to get back at them on THEIR terms. Because this time, even on THEIR terms, they lose. Their candidate SUCKS in more ways than one. I want them to know that we're not to be f**ked with anymore.

9. No offense but that video should come with a warning to the "poor dial up" DUers...
I was wondering why I was stuck with an hour glass on this thread.

Annoying.

4. One time presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton might agree with you
Obama didn't quite turn out to be the kumbaiya singing innocent she thought he was, did he. He's perfectly capable of sticking the knife in with a smile on his face.

6. Obama doesn't do 527s
Edited on Sat Jun-21-08 07:13 PM by blogslut
He's got us. Millions of small donors watching his back. Some of us run blogs. Some of us post on message boards. Many more are donating time and money to getting out the vote in order to defeat repub candidates in down-ticket races.

Incidentally, PEW just came out with a study showing that more people are turning to the web for their political information than teevee. The revolution is happening, it's not being televised and you are witnessing it.
