Let's hear it for Tammy Baldwin! I gave her an Obama sticker AND button today!

She stopped by the Obama table here in Madison and asked for an Obama sticker. Having been a person who had endorsed Hillary Clinton back in February, she is now firmly in the Obama efforts to make him the next President of the United States.

We talked briefly and I even gave her an Obama button. She smiled and said thanks in her beautiful way! She truly is a fantastic person and a Democrat we should ALL be proud of.

Having voted against the recent FISA bill (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll437.xml) as well as having been a solid progressive voice for her whole time as Congressperson, I think if people on DU can stop by her site and contribute or just check out her site.

Sad to say it, but it's true. Both sides are maneuvering for political advantage, and the citizenry be damned.

Tammy Baldwin is one of the few good ones. Represents the people, not the party.

Major party nominees are entitled to national security briefings. Obama's also on the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee. So yes, he could easily know things things that are considered classified information, though whether IS such information is anyone's guess.

I've sent some emails to Obama staffers I know to tell him to vote against it... it would be the right thing to do.
