Tim Russert surely is gone. Brian Williams has spent the last |
|
12 minutes piling on Barack because he decided not to take public financing. He is putting up articles were David Brooks said he had split personalities. I have changed channels and then flipped back and they are still discussing the same thing. Guess McCain is going to get a free ride again..........

1. Thanks for the heads up. |

MTP doesn't begin here until 10:30 ESDT. Don't think I will even bother to watch it.

You know things are going badly when the host quotes David Brooks.

5. well, didn't Brian Williams recently say that it was his "duty" to listen to Rush every day? |
|
Edited on Sun Jun-22-08 08:34 AM by ErinBerin84
I doubt he feels it is his duty to listen to a "liberal" radio show every day.
haha. George Snuffy just started the public finance debate. Cokie just squealed "It's a HUGE flip flop!" and Geroge says "CLEARLY going back on his commitment!" They are so pissed! Some other guy is whining "It's damaging his brand, and the money advantage won't even make a difference!" I think it's a good sign that they are so "disturbed".

6. I keep watching - just to see Lindsey Graham squirm uncomfortably |
|
and to see and hear some more of Joe Biden's confidence and knowledge. Graham has all but lost his mind carrying foul water for John McCain.

I have to give Biden credit though, for not giving up and walking off the set in disgust. What is it, Brian and Lindsey, that you don't understand? Obama is NOT taking corporate contributions. And Biden is right -- a $100 here and $100 there ultimately becomes a hell of a lot of cash, and furthermore, makes Obama beholden to no special interest, other than to the people (like me) who donate such "paltry" amounts.
To say that Tim Russert had already had the outline for this show in place -- as Williams did at the start -- is a bald-faced lie. Probably all Russert had done was line up Biden and Graham, as they were scheduled to be on last week.
As I said last week, NBC probably needs to rethink this whole MTP business if they can't do any better than this. And odds are, they can't.
ON EDIT: I will say, though, that I was glad to finally hear the ukelele version of "Over the Rainbow" that was played at Russert's funeral. I was curious as to what it sounded like.

9. Give me a break - Russert would've done the same piling on |
|
I watched MTP almost every week when it aired later in evening on MSNBC. I saw Russert many times do these gotcha's on Democrats. He'd have been piling on about Obama refusing public financing pulling up the same quotes as Williams did.
I'll be interested in how Brokaw handles MTP the rest of the way till the election.

The only people who watch these shows are dorks like us who have already made up our minds and watch it as our weekly sport.
I'll be more concerned about his nightly news coverage..although I haven't watched the 6:30 news hour since I was 18 11 years ago and I got a fast internet connection in college. It reaches older voters I guess.

12. If we don't watch, NBC will get rid of him. |
|
That's what I'm gonna do.
I think that Brokaw is worse than Russert. Brokaw actually believes that he is in an elevated league of his own. He's just another hack.
I will not be watching this show during the election season.

automatically is entitled.
Now that's an elitist, far as I know.
