4. a Great one.- more often than not, we get what we expect. |
|
I expected Bush to be a terrible president, and my expectations have been met and then some.
I'm expecting Obama to be a great president, and I hope he also exceeds expectations.

6. Good as he might be, he remains a politician, not a Savior. |

We may have to worry less about the doorknock in the night with Big O but let's not put the hopes of the world on his shoulders just yet, okay?
I usually expect the worst. That way I'm rarely disappointed.

7. A good Democratic president |

Edited on Sun Jun-22-08 11:24 AM by realpolitik
In all probability a great American president.
But you asked about a Democratic president.
I hope that he reaches across the aisle in a careful manner. The current wide stance party needs forgiven, but only after much harsh correction and reparation.
Post Nixon there was no correction, and we got Reagan. After Reagan there was no correction and we got Bush 1 and Bush 2.
There is a pattern here, and a fourth iteration of it is intolerable in a literal sense.
He needs a strong progressive caucus to support the best policies that he can devise, and correct those that are not well advised.
First, we must get rid of Nancy, Harry, and their ilk.

8. Based on how BAD Shrub has been for 8 years, no president at all |
|
would be a big improvemen!
You can never be certain what kind of a President someone will be, or what crises may occurr during his term, but I believe Barack will do well and has the potential to be great.

"He'll be the best Republican president since Bill Clinton."
:smoke:
Given some of his positions and advisors, that is sure to be how a lot of progressives see it.
