McCain and EADS: deeply corrupt. Broadcast Media No Show.
Edited on Sun Jun-22-08 12:46 PM by Warren Stupidity
But last week, McCain's subsequent effort to redo the tanker deal was dealt a setback. Government auditors ruled that the Air Force made "significant errors" when it rebid the contract and awarded the $35 billion project to Boeing's chief rival, partners European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. (or EADS) and Northrop Grumman. It's likely the Air Force will have to redo the bid yet again, which analysts say will delay the replacement of the fleet's 1950s-era refueling tankers. The auditors' ruling has also cast light on an overlooked aspect of McCain's crusade: five of his campaign's top advisers and fund-raisers—including Tom Loeffler, who resigned last month as his finance co-chairman, and Susan Nelson, his finance director—were registered lobbyists for EADS.

Ah but the MSM is too busy moaning over Obama's refusal to cripple his campaign with government tax-dollar funding. Nobody on the bullshit media system seems to be running with newsweeks excellent reporting here. What a shock.

Edited to make clear that while Newsweek is indeed part of the MSM, McCain's corrupt practices continue to not show up where it counts: on those screens in your living rooms and bedrooms.

1. Newsweek is MSM. This will find its way into the public awareness.
Would help if the Dems took the gloves off.

2. Newsweek is print media and the dying weekly news print media
it hardly matters what is in Time or Newsweek. If it ain't on tv it didn't happen. But you are correct, I should not have used MSM, but instead stuck with the more qualified bullshit media system.

6. The "print" media isn't dying - it's evolving.
More and more people are reading their news online as opposed to a newspaper or magazine.

I was a print media journalist for 12 years - and it's demise has been predicted since 1955.

It's not happened - and won't, now that millions of people worldwide have access to the Net.

7. Well if you want to call print media 'stuff on the web'
then I suppose it isn't dying. It also isn't print media.

9. This story definitely won't go away and it's absolutely devastating to McCain.

Americans won't look too kindly upon American politicians helping to award $35 billion dollar contracts to foreign countries when jobs at home are very hard to come by.

To top it off, McCain has EADS lobbyists and fund raisers working for his campaign. I can already see the campaign commercial. This kind of thing will also anger conservatives.
