This is an anti-Obama video that seems to be making rounds at my work
http://www.theurbangrind.net/?p=2570

It looks like it came out in April.

Fear mongering at its worst. Unfortunately, a great deal of people seem to be affected by these videos. THe comments are amazing.

7. Isn't it, though?
They way they kept repeating "barackhusseinobama". The funny thing is, these types of ads target the inner lizard brain that seems to be most active in people who don't believe in evolution. It always seems to be the least evolved who are affected by this tripe.

for 11 years! :scared:

EDIT: This video is crap of the highest order, aimed at stupid people who refuse to think for themselves, and have to be told how to vote.

The Democratic party needs to target the sheeple. BAAA!

3. ! ROFL Anyone who buys any of that nonesense isn't someone
we want in the party weighing in on issues.

The silver lining is that the wheat is really separating from the chaff during this election.

It's ok, the can keep making videos, we're the ones on the ground talking to people.

8. The real bottom line for me is the war.
We don't have any troops left here. Our National Guard should be just a National Guard. Bush has screwed this country up so much. Who would have even thought we would have 2 dollar gas under Clinton? Now, we have 4 dollar gas.

The electorate suffers a strange form of battered wife syndrome. Even though * is abusive, they are afraid of what else is out there. Hopefully, it's time for the electorate to say, "Fuck this, I'm leaving the asshole. Let's go in a better direction."

For a couple of years, at least, the dirction will be digging out of a hole. Better to dig out than down, though.

4. You know what? The REAL fear is.
Mongering is not going to work.

The real fear is what's being felt by the likes of Ann Coulter.

And the more afraid THEY are, the more I love him.

12. The person who had it playing had it forwarded to her
from another co-worker, and the list of names had a trail of other co-workers. I told her when it was playing that he had no choice of what his name was, and the video was propagandistic fear-mongering. She is normally a pretty fair-minded person, but the video seemed to have an effect on her.

I had to walk away after 2 minutes of the stuff. If I heard him say "Barack Hussein Obama" in the tone he said it in once more, I thought I would pick up the laptop and toss it.

This is the type of mudslinging that will have to be dealt with by the Obama campaign. A good percent of the population believes he is Muslim, without ever even researching it. Unfortunately, some of those uniformed people vote without checking if their opinions, or what they have been told is based on fact.

I actually have that film on DVD. It is called "Tit for Tat", and they steal Charlie Hall's marshmallows.

23. If I was the one to receive it, I would have, too.
But, it was a co-worker.

Superficial is a good word. And the "FACT" shit started to grate at my nerves. "FACT: if you state something as fact, people are more likely to believe it without research".

19. That's so inappropriate - can you complain to HR?
No political video, no matter who it supports, should be included in a work e-mail. (And, especially not one this disgusting.)

22. Well, I could say something to HR...
But, the e-mail wasn't sent to me. I responded once to a flash e-mail about being proud of Bush because he was like a cowboy, and I sent a scathing reply to the effect that Bush is scared of horses, and scared to do his own fighting, not a true cowboy(even though, being a Redskins fan, I don't like cowboys). :)

Unfortunately, a lot of folks in my line of work sort of lean to the right, and there have been some recent shake-ups. I will volunteer for Obama, and vote for him, but at work right now I sort of have to keep on the DL.

I understand - sometimes reporting something to HR actually makes things much much worse (I know this from personal experience) so I don't blame you. Hang in there! :D

26. Why even click the thread to begin with?
This swiftboating is what we are going to have to confront this election. These falsehoods are making their rounds, and we need to be aware. No one really wants to see this crap, but we need to know about it, and like it or not, this did have an effect on the last election.

I apologize for offending your delicate sensibilities by posting this, but as we are sure to see in TV ads to come, this is the type of tactic the right wing will use. They will try to denounce Obama's patriotism, and, if these ads are not confronted quickly, they can do the same damage the swiftboat ads did.

That video has so much spin it's like planet in orbit.

Typical right spin equating meaningless symbolism with patriotism.
