OH MAN!! You need to read the article in Newsweek about Cindy McCain!
I always thought Newsweek was a left leaning magazine. Well they sure aren't THIS TIME!

http://www.newsweek.com/id/142650

(clip)

Ambitious naval officers who hope to make admiral know they must put in years of sea time, long deployments aboard ship where they prove themselves as sailors and earn the respect of their superiors. Back home, their wives work, chase after the kids and take care of the house, building lives of their own while their husbands build their careers. Cindy McCain knows what that's like. Over the 28 years of her often long-distance marriage to Capt. John McCain, USN (Ret.), she says she thought of herself as a Navy wife whose husband was off on tour—albeit on Capitol Hill instead of somewhere in the North Atlantic. "It was almost like a deployment," Cindy told NEWSWEEK. "What I told the kids from the time they were little is that their dad was deployed and serving our country in Washington."

Read the whole article if you have a few minutes. I can't believe this was in Newsweek!

1. You thought Newsweak leaned left?!?!?!?!
Their lead commentator is Pigboy Rove. Where do you get your info, Limpballs?

4. There are a number of Newsweek columnists who appear on
KO, CNN, and other MSNBC shows who are certainly NOT RW! Truthfully, I didn't even know Rover wrote in that Mag.

30. If O'Reilly slams it, it can't be all bad...

He claims Newsweek has 7 left-leaning columnists compared to two right-leaning columnists.

Of course, Bill would say something like that if Newsweek had ever done something like quote Andrea Mackris talking about his bedwetting problems, too.

5. Hell no! I don't need to read that.
I saw enough in your post to tell me I'd blow my dinner if I read that article.

And BTW I don't think Newsweak could in any sense be called left leaning. It's owned by the sellout Washington Post.

They have a few decent columnists like Markos of Daily Kos but they also employ fucking Karl Rove IIRC.

They try to appear centrist but in articles like this their true colors always emerge.

When he was actually serving (in Vietnam), she wasn't even his wife yet.
Deployed in DC???! She has a nerve using the word "deployed" there. Another out-of-touch rich GOP person.

9. Sorry. I didn't see your post. I was just sitting here thinking how
great it would be if I could subscribe to magazines online instead of the hard copies. I would save a lot of trees, and $$ for the magazine owners, keep my house less cluttered, amd be a good thing for everyone. I googled magazines online and found this site. The one mag in their header was Newsweek so I clicked on it and there was this article! I hadn't seen it before, and I was dumbfounded at their RW arrogance!

8. "Almost like a deployment"?!?!?!?!?!?
Where, on Capitol Hill, did that pasty bastard ever have to worry about being captured, tortured, or shot?

That bitch Cindy makes a mockery of women whose husbands are on a REAL deployment in a REAL war.

21. That's easy. If she really thinks of herself as a Navy wiftr, just when during their marriage
was her dear hubby in any danger? NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never been a Navy wife, but I DID have a son who served on a ship in Gulf WarI. I" say attack her on her arrogance! She has NO IDEA what it's like to wonder if the next knock on her door is going to be a naval officer bearing horrible news! She has no idea what it's like to watch the bombings on her TV then hear a US plan went down but no names have been released! Her "pittiful story" is nothing but total BS!

18. Lucky for Cindy, the alcohol industry spends a lot more money on advertising.
Plus, Cindy's always been the "homemaker" type while Teresa was the "strong independent" woman type - and we know how much that second type is hated.

I heard he left the first wife after some disfigurement. I never heard anything more about her.

Cindy looks like an Ice Princess to me -- very cold and unfeeling.

22. Don't know the accuracy of this site, but it's the best I could find.....
http://people.howstuffworks.com/john-mccain1.htm

As the war's end approached, McCain and his fellow prisoners were released. McCain remained in the Navy for another eight years, retiring in 1981. His last assignment was as liaison between the Navy and the Senate. By the time he retired, he had been awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross .

McCain met his current wife, Cindy Hensley McCain, at a military reception in Hawaii in 1979. McCain was married at the time to Carol McCain, his wife since 1965. Once he returned from Vietnam, relations between the couple began to show signs of strain .

In April 1980, their divorce was finalized. In May 1980, McCain and Cindy Hensley married.

So, there was only one year in which she was an actual 'Navy wife'. Sorry, but being a politician's wife and being a Navy wife are NOT the same.

23. What do you need to do to get the Distinguished Flying Cross?
I don't mean to diminish McNuts time in torture...I sure could never have endured what he did! But I've read his bio, and I wouldn't classify him as a distinguished pilot! He's crashed 3 planes, and obviously didn't manage to avoid enemy fire!

That's a pretty gross thing to say considering McCain's first wife must have gone through absolute hell when McCain was in war and a POW.

"At a Navy cocktail party, a cocky captain came up and introduced himself. John McCain was the Navy's chief liaison to the Senate in Washington. He was 41, but told her he was 37. Cindy was 24, but told him she was 27."
