question: Is MSNBC's weird "special NYT hour edition!" a new or regular thing?
Did anyone see Mika and John Hardwood on MSNBC, a special "New York Times" edition? Is this a new or regular thing that I have missed recently? It was really strange, and really played like a corny commercial for New York Times, even with John saying severeal times "Welll, the NYT IS the paper of record!" It was like a freaking bash Obama hour of course. They talked in dept to the writer of the Muslim snub story, the writer of the Obama is a pawn for Ethanol story, and John Hardwood kept saying "Now, if you or I (to the NYT editor) had said what Charlie Black had said, no one would think it was strange, so why should this be seen as a gaffe?" They had Bob Herbert on too, but all in all in was pretty negative on Obama (which isn't surprising, but the NYT thing struck me as odd). Does MSNBC have a business relationship with NYT? I know about their Washington Post and Newsweek arrangements, but this hour was just a bit weird. Funny, the MSM wasn't calling the NYT a "paper of record" during Vikki Iseman-gate.

1. Saw the first of that episode and wondered what it was all about
The conversation was pure Obama bash. Then I read on DU that Obama was on live stream from CNN and went to that. Wow, he was super. Anyway, MSNBC is sounding more like the good ol' days of the Bush campaign. Unbelievable. and then they have the nerve to poll people on what they haven't a clue due to poor journalism, ugh....

3. yeah, it's my own fault for watching MSNBC, but the new NYT tie in was so random

Like I said, I know about MSNBC and the ownership of Washington Post and Newsweek- and I know that John Harwood contributes to NYT- but it was really like a commercial. Maybe they realize they need to have NYT episodes now that the United States could bomb Iran before November, to drum up the NYT propaganda machine.

In the past week or so it seems there has been a big change to dissing Obama and every dumb thing they can find to make a major issue out of. Yet they have clips constantly with McCain's dumbass comments that are read from a script and never question what he says. That's why those with some power on the internet and mass media need to put their job on the line and mention reality once in awhile. For those in the media that's asking a lot. I worry about Olbermann's career. Throw in Rachael Madow too, she is good.

Edit: True, the format was bizarre.
