We should all thank Ralph Nader for his tireless efforts as consumer advocate and... |
|
...politely ask him that he really needs to continue doing that regarding free/fair trade issues and the consequences.
In his final swan song in life, he could do a couple things. One of them will hurt his legacy.
What he could do is be considered an ambassador to fighting starvation in the World, fighting for human and worker rights in the post-Clinton/Bush free trade policies and perhaps even do his best as someone to work on the seemingly endless Israel-Palestine problem. There are just so many ways he could spin his role as consumer advocate in the past towards real solutions with the myriad of problems we face as a species at this time.
What he shouldn't do is waste valuable time and effort on what Obama correctly called a "perennial presidential campaign" that could actually continue the very hideous Bush policies, which are spinoffs of the Reagan wish list and PNAC's epilogue of neocon poison.
I trust that Ralph Nader still has his wits about him. I also think he will not be alive in less than 10 years. How should he end his final chapters? Raising fairly idiotic points about Obama not being black enough? Shaving percentage points off the electoral vote because he perhaps secretly wants things to be fucked up for financial gain?
We all somehow need to petition Ralph Nader and his continental ego that his final efforts can be for the good of the human race or he can tragically fade off as a malcontent that stains his youthful and admirable efforts.

1. Nader was a champion of the people in his day. |
|
It is sad that his legacy will be that of a spoiler.

2. His accomplishments have been minimized by his current level of |
|
asshattery.
So no, I won't thank the asshole. He can just fuck off.

3. Nader's time has past. He's doing nothing now to help anything. |
|
He's just spinning in his little egotistical world. Enough of him. He needs to retire.

5. Too late. For 10 years now Nader has been part of the problem, not part of the solution.... |
|
Sad because I respected him greatly once. Now I despise him-cringe at the mention of his name. Glad recent events show a big majority of DU now feels the same way.

6. I'd rather drive a Corvair. Dear Ralph, why don't you buy a house full of mirrors |
|
and leave the rest of us alone?
He's more than undone his good works by now. No thanks, Ralph.

8. I like some of his ideas and positions but... |

He's just another egomaniac. He knows he can't win but he will go ahead and make a big scene. Unfortunately if he pulls any people from voting for the dem candidate he could help the assholes win and doom this country and this world. So get off your fuckin high horse Nader. Either help or get the hell out of the media. It's really not about you anymore.
