John McCain doesn't work weekends!!!
Since effectively capturing the Republican nomination when Mitt Romney dropped out of the race on February 7, John McCain has held just one public campaign event on a weekend.

Instead, after workweeks full of fundraisers, town hall meetings and interviews, McCain has been, in campaign parlance, “down” on nearly every Saturday or Sunday for 20 weeks, largely sequestered away from the news media.

He’s usually spending time with family, friends and campaign advisers at residences in Arlington, Va., Phoenix or vacation homes near Sedona, Arizona, and San Diego.

So...WHERE does the media get their description of NcNuts as "very energetic, like the Energizer Bunny" come from???

5. This is a popcorn thread.
Just waiting to see how taking sunday off shows him to be unpresidential a/o morally corrupt (even tho half of us are probably posting from work!).

"2" is a pretty generous score.

4. Ya know
I understand the offense people take at ageism but seriously, being president is as hard if not harder than campaigning to be president. Well, unless you're Dubya.

If John McCain doesn't have the stamina to work non-stop during the campaign, it's only logical that he will not have the stamina to endure executive office.

6. I agree with you, but maybe he's thinking about doing the same as
Shrub, and just delegating everything to someone else! That way mistakes are ALWAYYS someone elses falut and you can kick back and relax.

13. Until *, being President was always considered a 24/7 job
If an emergency arises, a real President should leave his/her vacation plans behind and get right back to work. This just another way that McBush is unfit for the job.

12. Bush has been on vacation in Crawford - at Camp David- and now
gallavanting in Europe disturbing their leaders at work for more than ONE THIRD of his presidency I think. That is not counting weekends.
And I'm grateful for every damn day he is not on the "job" doing the "hard work".

15. I wonder if he'll get all pissy if he has to stay up late
like der Shrubbenführer does.

Back in March he broke Reagan's old record for time spent on vacation: 452 days (or 1-1/3 years!). Presidentin' is Hard Work™? Whatever, George. :eyes:
