Good news on the Presidential Front here in PA:
As many of you know, I have a few dental patients who are involved at the highest levels of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania politics and usually there's little to report from them...they rarely say much to me that they don't espouse in public and for good reason. Occasionally, I'll hear something good here and pass it on.

Yesterday was the day: a prominent woman from the Main Line is holding significant fund raisers for Obama and getting old-line republicans to jump on the bandwagon in contribution and campaign roles. The vast majority of these folks are the WASP'y types whose pictures appear at the Devon Horse Show reportage of the Main Line Times and the like. This is a very big deal since many of her acquaintances have been voting, shall we say, NOT Democratic Party, since the Whig Party was extant. The lady in question is from an old-line Philadelphia family which was caricatured in films such as "The Philadelphia Story" and "the Young Philadelphians (a terrific film which stars a young Paul Newman, Richard Deacon, Robert Vaughn and a host of character actors from the 50's!) and to hear her enthusiasm for our candidate is almost unbelievable. Amusing in a way. These are families which hosted Nixon, Bush the Elder, Eisenhower, Reagan, in their personal residences. One time, I asked one of these ladies to bring in a picture of her smiling, so I could see what her teeth used to look like before she lost them all, and she brought me a 1960 photo of her and Nixon in front of her fireplace in her house. I almost threw up...but it was a great shot.

Thought I'd pass this along...

2. Do you ask them questions with their mouths full of cotton?
LOL, my dentist does that all the time. Injects me with enough novacaine to render a horse totally numb, stuffs my mouth with cotton and then asks me questions.

5. :-)
In all honesty,

Nixon would be appalled at the party right now if he were still alive.

6. It was pretty big Hillary country here, but..
I think people are coming around. Haven't met anyone who won't vote for Obama.
