People respond to values and principles more than a list of specific issues.

Blue collar & low income workers are the one's getting screwed
and the GOP, as usual, is Union busting!!!!
The GOP has NEVER voted for a minimum wage increase.
The GOP made it harder for them to file for bankruptcy.
The GOP (both) voted for NAFTA with no safeguards for workers.
The GOP doesn't want them to have affordable health care.
The GOP wants to import workers that work for less $$.
The GOP wants to send their kids to illegal wars and don't care if they're killed, maimed or worse.
The GOP hates paying for public education! Wants to privatize it!
The GOP doesn't care if they're homeless!!
The GOP doesn't care of their babies and mothers are healthy. (US rate of infant mortality highest of all industrialized nations!)
The GOP does NOT care about them!!!!!!
They should be told this with facts OVER and OVER!!!!!
Add more to this list, if you want! ;)

Obama should keep his stance (as he has been) on the War. However, the issue of $$$ in the pocket, food on the table, and a house secured should be his primary focus. Our daily lives are more important than all the other issues.

That's what a lot of people want in a president. Strong moral and ethical values. They actually want someone who goes to church, loves his family, and exudes trustworthiness.
The intelligent people will talk about the issues. But most Americans want someone they can trust to "do the right thing". For some people, values and trust are the cornerstone of whether you can believe someone's campaign promises.
