So, why is it that the MSM is pushing this meme today?

As I recall, it's not so unusual for primary opponents and their surrogates to lay low this soon after the primaries end.

It seems to be that old "news making the news" via speculation that has grown so tired.

It always starts with a question, "Is Bill Clinton angry with Obama?", and goes on from there.

Methinks there's no "there" there. Have I missed something concrete?

1. An article in the NY Times today said friends o' the Clintons...
...have reported that he's still in primary mode.

4. Did they
actually quote someone or was this more "some say" or sources tell us"?

7. Here it is...
"At Mrs. Clinton’s request, the lawyer, Robert B. Barnett, who has brokered multimillion-dollar book deals for clients including Mr. Obama, Mrs. Clinton and Bill Clinton, is working to hash out questions large and small as the two camps work toward a political merger. Perhaps the thorniest question — what to do about Bill Clinton, who friends say continues to refight the bitter primary fight — has yet to be raised by either side, advisers said."

11. Thanks for the link
As I suspected "some Clinton supporters" was used plenty but the only name was this attorney who is just brokering a deal. The media is just trying to stir up shit for a change.

15. Why doubt it - Bill Clinton has made no personal statement of support...
It's pretty obvious he's not ready.

18. Of course none of this surprises me, but just in case there had been an...
...actual statement and not hearsay, it would be interesting to know.

I've got no beef with Bill on this however.

It's fine if he's not ready, or if he's just laying low.

It's even possible that he's being strategically held back until later, though I doubt it.

Barack is doing quite nicely on his own, hurrah!

3. Neither do I
I suspect the media is missing the primary battle and can't bear to concentrate on the real issues that separate mccain and Sen Obama so they'll focus on the bullshit - and if there is no bullshit, they'll simply make it up. Haven't watched cable news in over a year and, I swear, my hair stopped getting gray.

just empty news to fill up. I think the media is having withdrawals from dissing the Clintons on a daily basis. They're digging deep making shit up.

12. Evidence! Since when does the MSM need evidence? Seriously, they need
some sort of controversy to attract readers or viewers. If they don't have anything, they manufacture it. I've noticed a favorite ploy is to ask a loaded question to lure people in and then talk about it amongst themselves with no source, no documentation.

Just turned on the tube....They were talking about it as Hardball ended, and it was the first topic on Race to the Whitehouse.

I need to upgrade my cable to include BBC or some other better news service.

26. Corporate media is in the business of creating news, not reporting it.
Meanwhile, say goodbye to the 4th Amendment... among many other real news stories not being covered by the M$M.

28. Outplayed at his own game, I'd be pissed too...
Bill needs a hobby, a harmless distraction.

What a fun poll that would be, "What should Bill Clinton do to take his mind of Hillary's failed campaign?"

In the interest of unity and a profound dislike for pizza, I shall refrain from posting the question.
