2. I hope it's during the first year of his first term, and that
it's not because of Scalia's resignation.

3. Clarence Thomas' replacement would make me happier...
And so would Alito

and Roberts

and Stevens

and Kennedy

That makes 5. It would be a Court he picked and he'd have to share the blame or credit for the decisions he made.

But, I'd be much happier with him picking 5 than the 2 DUH-bya has picked

12. Patience my friend
Let's hope God raptures them first.

If that hasn't happened by Feb 1 then let's move Scalia and Thomas off the bench.

We should be honest with ourselves: Roberts and Alito have done little-to-nothing that we could sell to the general public that's impeachable -- I would argue it's not worth even trying.

Scalia and Thomas are different. Scalia has an attic full of skeletons in his attic that point to questionable behavior while on the Supreme Court.
Thomas has less visible skeletons, but that's because he doesn't utter more than a few sentences and those are usually the same ones that Scalia has just finished saying.

5. Oh dear Lord yes. How old is that freak anyway? Not old enough
I guess. And knowing him, he'll stick it out for another 8 years just to spite us.

13. They need to set a mandatory federal retirment age of 70 for all non-elected
federal officials.

This would include judges, lawyers, bureaucratic officials, cabinet officials, etc.

The only people unaffected would be the President, the Vice-President and Congress

15. That would not be too good for us
Stevens is 88 and Ginsburg is 75.

18. Yes but
it would also remove Scalia and I think Thomas would also be out during an Obama administration

I'm looking at this being something they enact next year or in 2010.
I'm not stupid enough to want it right now.

A law like this would keep people like Cheney, Rumsfeld and the neo-cons from Reagan's administration from being resurrected as some cabinet-level official.

14. I'd rather it be Thomas and Kennedy
and for Scalia to be forced to sit there on a liberal court writing nutty dissenting opinions for 20 years
