Senator McCaskill needs to learn to be a gracious WINNER!
from this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/25/us/politics/25scene.html

quote:

Others described Mrs. Clinton’s luncheon manner as characteristically “workmanlike.” She smiled and dutifully dispensed handshakes, air kisses and “good to see yooos” to former supporters and nonsupporters alike. “I got a handshake,” reported Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri, a supporter of Mr. Obama, after the lunch. “No hug, no air kiss.”

Mrs. McCaskill also said that in brief remarks, Mrs. Clinton voiced her full commitment to Mr. Obama’s campaign — in recounting this, Mrs. McCaskill feigned relief by pretending to wipe sweat from her forehead.

end quote.

Sore winners are even uglier than sore losers.

Senator McCaskill's snide comments about Senator Clinton are not helpful.

I hope that Senator Obama tells her "No more pretend relief that Clinton is
supporting me, no more comments that you did not get an air kiss
from Clinton. Cut it out."

1. She should be glad I don't live in MO
I would have a damn hard time voting for her after her behavior in this race.

14. I live in Missouri, I voted for her and I'm very disappointed
with the way Sen. McCaskill has voted on many issues. She may call herself a Democrat, but by gosh, she votes like a repuke!

But still, we in Missouri should make getting rid of Sen. Kit "Waterboarding is like swimming" Bond a top priority and deal with McCaskill (DINO) later!

McCaskill is not a DINO, just because she doesn't vote with us 100% of the time, 95% more like it

24. "she votes like a repuke!" Yes, 15% of the time. The rest of the time she votes like a Dem.
Get some goddamn perspective.

38. She's not nearly as progressive as I'd like.......
and that's MY goddamn perspective.

I can't tell any difference between Sen. Claire McCaskill and the * booster she replaced. But as I said downthread, unseating the repuke embarrassment that is Sen. Bond should take priority.

3. No just concern.
McCain is running against us, but we should be concerned about how one Senator acted toward another Senator; both women; both Democrats.

Poster wanted us to have this good news, certainly.

People on both sides probably still have resentment towards certain surrogates, but I'm really just trying to get over it.

6. It's unfortunate
but she's very new to national politics, and has been given a lot more spotlight than most others in her position.

I like her, though, and think she'll learn.

11. So it's true?
'The Democratic battle for the White House is done, but there are apparently hard feelings from people within Sen. Hillary Clinton's inner circle.

A reporter at the International Herald Tribune penned an article about a number of political figures that spurned Clinton. Apparently, they have been put on an unofficial "enemies list."

While Clinton spokespeople deny such a list exists, the article notes that "supporters tend to be less formal documents than spoken diatribes, with offenders' names spat forth in rants, gripe sessions and post-mortems." Included, apparently, is Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Missouri.'

12. Claire is class.
She's so emblematic of Obama's misogynist campaign.

Um...no.

The senator from MO worked her way to her seat, not given the position like the NY senator.

16. Oh, puh-leeeeeze!
Claire benefitted greatly from Rush Limpballs himself. If it hadn't been for him ridiculing Michael J. Fox, Sen. McCaskill might not have gotten the national exposure that made her a household name in Missouri.

But judging from the way she votes, we might as well still have the repuke Sen. Talent that held the seat before her.

13. I was at Women fo Obama before the clinching, and she was extremely gracious.
About Hillary and what she accomplished. I can see her smiling as she said it. However, I don't trust the Times in reporting a fair story, preferring to sow discontent and endless process stories.

Bad memories of 2004 campaign, and Adam Nagourney and others.

15. Much ado about nothing, but thanks for your "concern". Sen. McCaskill
is one fine lady, and has been a tremendous surrogate for Sen. Obama. If she wants to make an offhand "joke" to lighten what had to be a tense situation, what's the harm? Were you this "concerned" about Bill's tepid "endorsement" of Sen. Obama?

22. I'm getting sick of people who can't get over the primaries. Wah, Clinton was mean and
McCain is using her lines against Obama. Wah, an Obama supporter suggested Clinton might have decided not to support Obama.

Obama vs. Clinton is in the history books. Grow up and move on.

Good grief, all she did was wipe her brow and you're calling for her impeachment. She has every right to call out Hillary after her campaign tried to make her and a couple other high-profile women an issue just because they supported Obama instead of Hillary.
