Obama may be considering Hillary for VP |
|
i still don't think he will pick her. but from the recent stuff going on, maybe he is considering her.
there has been a lot of talk about Bill Clinton and his support/lack of for OBama. one of the biggest reasons given for why HIllary should not be VP is her husband would not be able to stay out of the spotlight. maybe he is just showing that he can stay in the background.
i don't know, but i think we should be careful about the way some of us react based on the media. they are looking at anything to claim Democrats are divided. this is not true based on the evidence we have where Obama has most of the party backing and it's very strong. including Hillary's women supporters.
they are doing this to avoid discussing the problem McCain is having among his own party. many in his own party just don't like him. and there are many who are just depressed. they thought they would get wealthy and be living great lives with Bush. but instead their lives have gotten worse. none of it makes sense to them and they can't see what voting for McCain or anyone else will do.

1. I used to say that could never happen |
|
But here lately it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

4. I belive the odds of her being chosen are very slim, if not non-existant. |

The ratio of Hillary-haters that will come out to vote against her versus the Hillary-lovers that swore off Obama but would vote for them if she was on the ticket is about 3:1. This results in a net loss for Democrats.
Please, please let it be Edwards instead.

8. I don't see fumbling at all |
|
For what real reason does a VP selection need to be made right now? Hillary and her whipped up people need a cool down period. A quick selection would have caused nothing but problems. A fast grab at Hillary would be seen by almost all but her supporters as a sign of weakness and instantly tapping someone else would have driven some bonkers to the point of fury.
No, in due time an experienced and probably more ahem...mature fellow will be brought in as the pick but the season is not yet ripe. There is no need now, the impact potential just isn't there. Obama will make the call when he always does, when he needs a burst of momentum.

9. I think grantcart meant that it was all of us doing the fumbling about trying to guess. |

And that Obama was the one playing chess.
Obama will make the call when he always does, when he needs a burst of momentum.
He's shown a welcome knack for just such maneuvering, and it's served him extremely well so far. And I suspect it will continue to do so in the future as well.
And welcome to DU. :toast:

10. The chances of her being the VP choice are slim and none |
|
and, as Don King says, slim is out of town.
