This douchebag on MSNBC can't even say PUMA right.
Has he looked at a poll, lately? His candidate is flopping and he's really trying to say Obama is the candidate sputtering along?

haha

I guess this is all they could get to defend McCain. Sad.

2. It was a McCain supporter saying Obama won't be able to unite the party.
And brought them up as an example.

I do not believe they were there.

7. Good Question??
Were the kyles visible at all, or was their tantrum drowned out by everyone else?

I still do NOT understand people who are so upset they didn't get their nominee that they will go against that nominee's express wishes, views, and everything that nominee stands for, in order to throw a tempter tantrum and vote for someone who goes against everything the person they support stands for.

8. he just used it as an "example" of democratic disunity
said "Well, I read in the Washington Post this morning, ..blahblahblah."

Though I did hear that PUMA members protested the big donor meeting last night...all twenty of them :)

13. All 20 of them *snerk*
Seriously, it seems like most of the PUMA people are a very small, very vocal group, and the only two reasons they are as loud as they are is:\

1) They're all bouncing from echo chamber to echo chamber, causing an effect not unlike feedback in a PA system

2) The MSM, desperate to keep up the "Democratic Disunity" message, seek them out.

But with all that being said, is there anything more there than the rabid group of self-denying, political cannibals they appear to be?

3. seriously, there is no irony lost in him saying
"Obama is a much weaker candidate than previously thought, the Democratic party is in bad shape, blahhhh blahhh". I turned it off before the Democrat could even reply bc I hate seeing weak Democratic "strategists" let some of these ridiculous talking points go by.

4. He pronounced it "Pyew-mah" instead of "Poo-mah"... anyone remember MST3K?
Edited on Fri Jun-27-08 01:38 PM by ReverendDeuce
Remember the episode where the movie was "Puma-man"? Donald Pleasance kept calling him the "pyew-mah man"...

11. That is the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread!!
Servo and the others kept saying "Puma" after Pleasance mispronounced it.

16. What a fantastic episode of MST3K... Pumaman was such excellent fodder...
LOL... I love the bit when Servo sang something about "Now you can get the flavor of bacon in a chip!" while some sort shenanigans were going on on-screen...

17. It's the standard British pronunciation
See http://forthright.livejournal.com/151922.html

Basically, when someone wrote the Quechua or Spanish word down in English, they misspelt it as "puma", when "pooma" would have been the more logical spelling. Most English words starting "pu" (when it's a a long vowel) are pronounced "pyoo-", like "pure", "puberty", "puke", and so on.
