Large group forms on Obama website to work to get Barack to change stance on FISA
http://my.barackobama.com/page/group/SenatorObama-PleaseVoteAgainstFISA

This is on the MyBo (my Obama .com) site where supporters form groups to discuss the campaign and to do events around the campaign and their communities.

Over 800 people have joined in less than 24 hours, and it keeps growing at about 4% an hour.

Check it out.

1. This is constructive criticism of Obama. This is positive. This works.
If only there was more of that here instead of concern trolling.

2. I really hope it does work. It's important for many different reasons, some not even
related to civil rights and the rule of law.

The whole premise of Obama's campaign has been that people need to get involved in their own government. He says, and I believe him, that we as individuals have the power to make positive change.

One of the more salient arguments for Obama's nomination is that he has run a grassroots campaign, and that once elected he will be able to achieve results because he can call on the grassroots to put pressure on their elected officials to enact change on issues such as health care, education, and US foreign policy.

This is the perfect opportunity to see if these concepts are valid.

If the grassroots can effect a change in Obama's position on FISA, then why can't Obama call on his supporters to put pressure on their elected officials to convince them to change their position of FISA.

As an Obama supporter, I find this to be a very interesting time.

3. at this point, it'd be the kiss of death if he listened to "grassroots" on policy.

4. So your opinion is that listening to the corporations is the way to go now?
