how i made cookies for bush 1
this is a true story

during the 88 election bush 1 as VP came to tallahassee florida on a fundraiser
i was acting pasty chef at the ramada inn north
the owners ,the chadler family, were big GOP donors and fundraisers
old chandler came to me and told me the VP and next POTUS was coming for an afternoon fundraiser and he wanted me to make 6 or 7 dozen special cookies for the event
i went to my treasure chest of stolen recipes and could find none that i felt were good enough
i then began combining recipes to see if a greater cookie could be made from lesser parts

i was successful
double fudge walnut chocolate chip cookies
the night before the event i ran a late bakery production and made my cookies

butter cookies

fudge walnut cookies

chocolate chip cookies

and the finisher
double fudge walnut chocolate chip cookies

at 3 am i went home and set my alarm for 10 so i could get to work (it was my day off)and actually see the VP with my own eyes

i got up got outta bed ran a comb across my head
found my way downstairs and drank a cup looking up i noticed i was late

so off i went
i got there and ran into the doors with a mighty whump
unusual
they were never locked before
as i was gathering myself from my whack on the door
the door opened
an unhappy looking man in a blue suit said "may i help you sir?"
i identified myself and he said "your name is not on the list sir"

i protested and told him of my night baking cookies
he said "im sorry sir you are not on the list and you may not enter this building"
and he slammed the door in my face

i stood dazed by this when the door opened again
the unhappy man leaned out and asked "did you make the fudgy ones with the walnuts in them?"
i assured him i had and that they were not available anywhere else on earth and only today
he said "we thought the fudgy ones with the nuts were the best"
and slammed the door in my face a second time
i went home and later in the day we were eating at wings and things on pensacola when the bush motorcade went by on the way back to the airport
i gave him the finger as he passed

2. Interesting story
THANKS for sharing it.

I have a friend whose a nurse (she's a good Democrat) in New Orleans. A few years back when chimp paid an official visit she was picked for a team to respond if anything happened to him. Of course nothing did happen but we both found it ironic that hating him as much as she does in an emergency she would have to work to save his life. :wow:

14. hehe ...mine has hersheys recipe in it
the final batch of the special cookies is 3 dozen
you take the other three recipes and the reserve 1/2 the dough
mix them together with 1/2 cup cocoa and 1/4 cup sugar
i it looks dry add either more butter or a shot of cream

be careful tho and do not burn them as they will become bitter if the cocoa scorches
if you do scorch them set them aside and have them with coffe and they will still be yummy
