Anyone concerned about the McCain-Jindal rumors?
Jindal is basically the GOP's version of Barack Obama (a much less talented version mind you). Could Jindal be the "hot new name" that helps anchor McCain in a GE? He would definitely be a bold pick.

5. Why do you hate America?
But seriously, I am betting that a majority of the fringiest who would vote McCain anyway agree with it, but as to some of the more reasonable people, they are not going to be drawn to McCain because he picks Jindal, plus the racists won't like it and the Xtians might think he's a Hindu....

9. We could only be so lucky.
Besides Jindal's scandal filled resume, he would undercut every attack they have on Obama. The VP is supposed to be ready to be president at day 1. How can they call Obama inexperienced when the VP has less resume then Obama. He would also ruin some of the bigot advantage that McCain has over Obama.

What does Jindal bring anyway... Louisiana?! lol McCain has that state anyway. Besides why would Jindal ruin his career by attaching himself to the human titanic. Jindal is exactly where he wants to be as Governer of Lousiana. Look for him to run for president in 2016.

what the republicans and the right wingers have done to the country in the last eight years

Still, a snowball might have a better chance in McDonalds' deep grease fryer at getting anywhere in this race than McCain...

16. Don't underestimate Carly Fiorina
She interviews well on TV and is very sharp on the economy. I doubt that she'll get the V.P. spot though. It seems like when Republican potential V.P.s notice that the tide is turning against them, they make their desire to be #2 public. That's what Mike Huckabee did a few weeks back and that's what Fiorina just did as well.

showing her Golden Parachute after ruining a company and not to mention her quote "Americans think they are entitled to good jobs they are not".

Carly would be alot of fun. She's the type of CEO when we bash CEO's that everyone is talking about, Ruin the companies equity than take 20-30 million to leave.

18. Who looks more "exotic" or "Muslim" or "terrorist" -- Obama or Jindal?
This would be the question faced by racist voters, of which I'm not one. I would think they would go with Obama -- He looks more "American".

By the way, I can get into the minds of racists as I've suffered plenty of them in my life.

21. At this point I am just unable to wrap my mind around Jindal
as a serious anything, let alone a next vice presidential pick for the Republicans.

He strikes me as kind of a cartoon version of a governor, a character on SOUTH PARK, a deservedly marginal wacko, something that washed up on the beach in the wake of Katrina and somehow found its way to the governor's mansion.

I'm guessing Louisiana is in reasonably good shape for the GOP in their internal polling and so Jindal doesn't secure them something they didn't already have or were within easy striking distance of winning.

He doesn't help in any state Kerry/Edwards won in 04 and may in fact hurt McCain in some of the toss-up states.

Bush narrowly won Iowa and New Mexico, for example, and I'm not seeing how Jindal reinforces those narrow wins or increases the margin. If anything, I think Jindal helps throw both states back into a deeper blue.

There's also the too-much swamp vapor & voodoo profile with the recent discussions of exorcisms, etc. If the Right Wing swiftboaters flog the idea that Obama is a "secret Muslim," they lose their propaganda point if a voodoo exorcist is on their own ticket.

Likely the Far Right fundies would find much agreement with Jindal as a hyper-conservative on social issues, but he doesn't seem as if he'd be their first choice to implement those bigoted limitations. Grover Norquist, for example, might prefer someone less "tan." The Far Right already are distrustful of McCain. His picking Jindal would reinforce his already-damaged profile with the fundie nutbags, and many of them would just stay home or refuse to vote for the Pres/VicePres line on their ballots.

I don't know. I'm just not seeing Jindal at this point as a serious player.

23. If he does, there goes the "Obama is too young and inexperienced" claim
Not only does Jindal have much less experience than Obama, he looks like he's about 15 years old.
