4. "Ayer" means yesterday, and "murio" means died,
so the sentence as written means, "Is Mary Brown Dave died yesterday" or "It is that Mary Brown Dave died yesterday."

7. I understand now. She is saying "This is Mary. Dave Brown died yesterday."
Thanks guys. Dave Brown is a friend of mine, who had leukemia. I send him emails about politics all of the time and apparently his wife is writing me back that he died yesterday.
