A newly elected President Obama will probably declare.....
...in his first State of the Union address:

"I am no longer running for President, I am the President and I am here to govern this great nation of ours. It is time for all of us to get to work to right the ship and set a true course."

1. Obama should declare that he is the decider, uniter and
mission accomplished. Oh, I forgot, that was Bush who said that.

8. or perhaps
"Good afternoon. I realize that most of you are here today to participate in the 243'rd consecutive day of mourning for Timothy Russert. Not to divert you, but I have just been sworn in as the new President and wanted to make a couple of offhand remarks about the world."
