McShame Shouted Down At Latino Elected Officials Conference
Edited on Sat Jun-28-08 02:30 PM by papapi
Clone McShame was shouted down three different times today as he tried to deliver a 'speech' to the Latino Elected Officials Conference in Washington DC. Why doesn't this old fart just face the music and concede the election right now?

1. I just talked to a Republican at an Obama event and she said
she had realized that she must to do more than pray.

There's a fundamental groundshift underway.

I've been voting since 1972 and this is the most volatile time I've seen in politics.

6. Your assessment is wrong
He had to stop three times because female protesters stood up and shouted. It ruined his speech and any memory of his message was lost.

I consider that being shouted down.

Do you have a problem with war protesters? Or are you a fan of Johnny McSame?

13. The headline was equivocal
in a way worthy of Fox or the Post.

Do you have a problem with honesty?

McCain WAS NOT shouted down over issues of specific concern to Hispanics -as the OP implied and in fact McCain polls all too strongly with the demographic which will be a critical block of voters in November.

I also provided links to the story and video so anyone could see for themselves exactly what happened. You're brain must be equivocating in some fashion.

21. That's how it came across to me
And, for the record- I hope McCain is heckled about the war everywhere he goes, but I worry about his appeal to Hispanics in key states, based on his somewhat more sensible immigration stands (which actually are a bit "maverick" compared with the usual far right mouth foaming xenophobe).

42. Cool
I worked with the peace movement back in the early 90's. It was a pretty tepid affair. I got kind of disillusioned when the whole thing started to resemble that scene in "Life of Brian" with the People's Front of Judea. Or was it the Judean People's Front?

Regardless. I can't do it anymore. I've got a personal history that looks bad in print. So, I stay home and play Internet guerilla.

Stay strong. Keep up the good work. :hi:

11. I got on it late
so in like 7-10 minuets I saw two people have to be escorted out and McCain blow his nose the whole time he was asked a question.

The response was his entire platform, it took what? Two minuets?

McCain, once committed to the bulk of the neocon platform and perspective, becomes extremely dull and disingenuous. People were getting carried out and the audience seemed blah at best.

It was somewhat train-wreckish, except that instinct was to avert my attention instead of it being attracted.

This is his best format? Ehh...might fly against a 2000 version of Gore or a monotone Kerry but no way does he consistently win against a Bubba, an Obama, or Hillary.
Wexler would march him around like the Drill Sergent in Full Metal Jacket.

With all the money that McSame has can't he do something about his teeth? Really they're almost brown and while I have no problem with brown it does not belong on the teeth.

Granted, insurance doesn't pay for teeth whitening but like I said he does have the money.

Sheesh!

16. The title of this thread is sort of misleading.
Just from reading it, I got the idea that the crowd shouted down McCain, possibly over "Latino" issues.

Only after watching the video did I understand that the shouting was by three anti-war protesters. The crowd was on McCain's side. The article describes them as trying to shout down the protesters.

I was berated early out about the 'ambiguity' of my post. I didn't think it ambiguous. McShame was shouted down, it occurred at the LE&AO Conference. I don't know why some found that confusing. But thanks for clarifying to the other person. Hope I get a chance to shout the tired old geezer down!

Right after the first heckle, he begins chewing maniacally, and it looks like he is actually eating something, not just chewing gum. And if it is gum, why would someone chew it in the middle of a major televised speech?
