John McCain broke through a major glass ceiling when he earned the Republican nomination
I didn't see any stories in the mainstream media about John McCain's accomplishment. He broke through a major glass ceiling. A man who is 50% dead receives the nomination of a major political party and nobody notices. Perhaps that's a positive sign. Perhaps Americans are finally prepared to judge people by the content of their character rather than the stiffness of their muscles. However, I am concerned that people didn't notice simply because they pay no attention to dead Americans, even though Americans who are now dead have made a significant contribution to this nation. Dead Americans have been disappointed many times. They know from bitter experience that what looks like an innocent coffin lid is all too often a glass ceiling.

4. I understand why you are posting this. You are very passionate and your heart is in the right place
but please lets not use ageism in this election. Let's not attack McCain on things he can't help. He has plenty of policy misteps that we can address and it will be much more fair to McCain as a person (because lets face it, he is a person) to take the high road about this and call him out on issues rather than age.
