McCain's failed to pay taxes on Cali home for 4 years, currently in default
From Huffpo:

Newsweek is set to publish a highly embarrassing report on Sen. John McCain, revealing that the McCains have failed to pay taxes on their beach-front home in La Jolla, California, for the last four years and are currently in default, The Huffington Post has learned.

Under California law, once a residential property is in default for five years, it can be sold at a tax sale to recover the unpaid taxes for the taxpayers.

The McCains own at least seven homes through a variety of trusts and corporations controlled by Cindy McCain.

2. The rich bitch probably thought her trust exempted her from paying the taxes.

3. What could be an excuse for this?
One of his minions forgot? Had bigger tax issues to deal with than something piddling like paying your property taxes so that community services could continue to survive, esp. in this economy? Forgot about that pesky economy thing again? Don't do so hot at delegation?

One year, okay reluctantly give a pass for a mistake by some douchebag he hired to do this. Two years? Three years? One conclusion is that McCain is no better at picking people to run his personal business affairs than he has been at picking people to advise him on his campaign (Carly, Phil, various fired/resigned lobbyists, to name a few that come to mind - it is a long list now).

Hey, maybe he can blame his trollop (believe that is one of his fond nicknames for her). Cindy is so busy being on a mission to get dh elected that supervision of her staff is just not possible. Or maybe stiffing local governments on taxes they need for their operating budgets is one way for her to show how much more "proud" she is of our country than Michelle. Or did she narrowly mean love of country, not love of local government?

Posers like this are just ticking me off today.

11. This is horrible
The plight of seniors who can't afford the taxes on their homes is so sad. They'll have to get second jobs. John could get a job at Home Depot and Cindy could sell Mary Kay products and Tupperware for some extra cash. There goes their dream of traveling the country in a Winnebago and visiting every National Park. I hope they don't have to move in with their kids or anything. :sarcasm:

12. Disgusting
They have plenty of money to pay those taxes. Now the home goes into foreclosure, which hurts the property values of the other people's houses in the neighborhood.

13. But....but...the RICH are Different from You and Me...they don't have to pay taxes ...ever...
They can avoid them and the Tax Collector never bangs on their door or sends THEM threatening messages..saying they will foreclose.

the RICH are Different.......

14. Damn! I didn't know I had that home!
Or I would have paid my taxes on it. Probably because it is one of those lower-class neighborhoods like La Jolla. We try to stay away from that "class" of people. :-)
