McCain's base is not as inspired or mobilized as Obama's and |
|
so the Pukes' veep nom has to somehow reassure the GOP base AND appeal to the % of independents McCain has to have to win.
Despite other variables in the race for the White House, I like it that we have him over this particular barrel.

1. I just saw Mitch McConnell on Late Edition, and he was wandering |
|
through Fantasy Land, saying how excited the Repukes are about McCain, that he'll have great coattails, and the balance in Congress will not perceptably change. I think he's channeling the Rove 2006 predictions.

2. I think you're right. Gotta by Rove's shoulder-devil whispering in Mitch's ear. |
|
I think McCain's in for a real rough patch of road from here to November.

3. It'll be a challenge to keep that up, with all of the Obama haters on our side.... |
|
Just drooling over the opportunity to pick him apart and, especially, that I-told-you-so moment they'll get to revel in, if all of their work comes to fruition, and Obama loses.
It will definitely be challenging.
