John McCain says Obama is a liar.
Just a day after Obama and Hillary both had kind personal remarks for John Mccain, he reciprocated with a personal attack on Barack Obama. Once again, the Republican Party and John McCain, resort to personal character attacks in hopes of tearing down their opponent, rather than their positions, in hopes of winning another election. It's getting old, folks...

<snip>
ABC News's Bret Hovell reports: At a fundraiser tonight in Louisville, Ky., Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said that the word of his opponent for the White House, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., "cannot be trusted."

"You know, this election is about trust, and trusting people's word" McCain told a crowd of donors to his campaign. "And unfortunately, apparently, on several items, Sen. Obama's word cannot be trusted."

<snip>
McCain has frequently mentioned his desire for the campaign with Obama to be "respectful," but has been ramping up more personal attacks on Obama in recent weeks.

The fundraising event in Louisville raised $2 million for McCain's campaign, according to the chairwoman of his Kentucky finance committee, who announced the number when she was introducing McCain.

2. Like you can trust the GOP
they are a pack of conniving, lying scoundrels bent on looting the public treasury for their own gain and in shredding the Constitution to enhance their own power. The fact that McSame is resorting to personal attacks after saying he wouldn't is telling.

4. Does that make him a liar?
He obviously cannot be trusted to keep his word...

McCain must be very worried about all the inroads Obama is making.

5. Is McInsane losing his cool already?
Much sooner than expected, I must say, although he looked ready to fucking snap yesterday at the Latino conference when antiwar protestors interrupted his speech. If McNasty wants to ramp up the rhetoric already, I'm sure that Barack Obama is up to the challenge. Personally, I don't think McSame has the stamina to sustain a highly-charged campaign of recrimination until November...but that's HIS problem.

8. Well, at least he pays his taxes, Johnnie boy.

I'm sure we can trust what you say about the way you can be trusted to pay your taxes. Or was that all your wife's fault?

No whining, now Johnnie boy, that she won't let you control the checkbook.

9. He's desperate...
because he's not getting any traction no matter what he says. Obama's story remains the more compelling and McCain's "ideas" (a $300,000,000 prize?) are going nowhere.

Still, we must be vigilant. It's not as if these tactics haven't worked before.

10. If not desperate, I would say they are very concerned...
No matter what they try, it doesn't seem to work for them? Now, McCain has called Obama a liar whose word cannot be trusted.

11. How rovian. McCain's biggest weaknesses are his flip-flops, so he is projecting.
Obama needs to fuck him up big time on this.

12. they are REALLY getting desperate.
My grandfather gets the NY Post, and I read it just for giggles bc it's so trashy...some of the attacks included an op ed in which the author strikes down "myths" with the same old bullshit GOP talking points (The Democrats want you to think that you are not safer today than you were before 9/11, but the US has not been attacked gosh darn-IT!...Myth: The "Democrats want you to think that McCain is too old to be trusted on foreign policy, but look at the ages of some of Obama's foreign policy advisors, gosh darn-it! They even included Richard Clark, who is 56 or something, and the author said "if you add up the ages of Obama's foreign policy advisors, you end up in the Middle Ages during Black Death...uh...that's possibly the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Also said "These people are the people whose legacy culminated in 9/11! Yes, they were doing the "Blame Clinton on 9/11 route.." Also had a really unflattering picture of Madeline Albright with the caption "Obama's "Fresh" foreign policy perspective. Another article they tried to disquise as a real article, titled "Obama is the Candidate of Changed My Mind", with all of these make believe flip flops of Obamas, some that they were realllly stretching. It is pretty funny that Republicans even go there this season with McCain changing his mind every other week.

13. That's the topic of one of those right-wing smear emails -- completely untrue of course
Looks like McCain's people are falling back on their lowest arguments already.
