If Obama Loses, Where Does the "Power" Go?
(first wash my mouth out for saying the word "loses"). Anyway, Clinton held the power of the Dem Party for 8 years as president. Al didn't get the power because he didn't get into the Oval Office. The power reverted back to Clinton. Kerry didn't get it because he lost. It reverted back to Clinton. If Obama loses he does not retain the power so where does the power go?--do the math---now maybe you can see why certain Dems still are scared of their own shadow and seem under enthused in their support, etc. It ain't over until it's over, even if you think it's over. We have to recognize that this is a certain weight still pulling us down. That transfer of power will only take place in a victory.

3. "We The People"
still retain the power but until we have
a leader who is willing to call on us to USE
that power, nothing will change, it will only get worse.

4. Yes, it is sad because Obama offer so much inspiration for hope and change.
Not only for our nation, but for our party as well. I would hate to see our party power retreat to the past rather than move forward. It is time for a new generation to take over from the same old, same old.

6. elocs -That's EXACTLY what I'm afraid of
I'm in my 60's but I do not want to see this all "revert back" to anyone! It IS time to move on because it's one of the reasons we have lost way too many times. This either has to be seen as a party that is moving forward and also a party that isn't just "repub lite" if both our party and this country is going to get out of this goddamn rut we are in. And I'll be point blank - if Obama wins, I sincerely hope he does not do a lot with the Clintons after his election and just let them fade into memory. He has to hold the power and later pass it on.

7. I love Al - but that isn't the way politics works
Trust me - "power" isn't going to go back 8 years and hand it to Al. The last to hold the Dem power by the neck is the Clintons and they still have the structure in play which Al doesn't. Sadly, "we the people" basically mean dit-squat when it comes to where the money/power ends up.

8. What is this power you refer to?

As far as the party goes, it will be run by the senior elected memebers of congress AND whomever the DNC elects as its chairperson.

The clintons havent had any real power over the party since Mccauliffe was chair of the DNC.

12. It won't go back to the Clinton's this time.
They just lost to a new comer with no name recognition.

The Clinton reign is over.
