McCain meets with both Franklin and Billy
The meeting was announced as between only McCain and Franklin Graham, but Billy Graham was feeling well enough to join.

The younger Graham said in a statement he wasn't endorsing, but the the picture of both father and son with McCain probably was enough to make the trip down to western North Carolina worthwhile.

"Today, I met with Reverend Billy Graham and his son, Franklin. We had a very excellent conversation, and I appreciated the opportunity to visit with them. Billy Graham recalled that during the Vietnam War when I was a prisoner, he visited my parents twice in Honolulu, and he and my father prayed together for me. And I expressed my appreciation for that a long time ago."

1. To the dissatisfied of DU--THAT is how the Republicans win elections; the zealots hate McSame,
but the zealot leaders rally the troops behind them to vote for him regardless.

The cReeps are hardly enchanted with McSame, but they, unlike us, know they have no other choice but to vote for him.

2. Hope someone digs out some extra controversial stuff by Billy
so that McBush will reject him and turn off the whole evangelical voting bloc

4. That would be a fatal mistake for O's campaign. Billy Graham is probably the most revered minister

in the entire country, if not the world, unless Joel Osteen has surpassed him.

Edited to add: BG has been the spiritual counselor to every President in the WH since Harry Truman (I think).

3. Hubby & I were discussing this earlier today - couldn't O meet w/the Graham clan?
The pix of them together will be construed as endorsement by many.

5. Their followers are not going to vote for a Democrat, period. There's no need for him to do so.
And doing so would smack of what McSame is doing--pandering.
