12. He/she always posts stuff like this and it really is to promote discussion.
Although I could see that you, being the #1 fan might be a little sensitive. :)

That was meant to be teasing, in a good way. I've had a really bad day and I'm trying to lighten my mood just a tad. It can get so contentious in here sometimes, can't it?

Oh well. I love Clark, too. And I know it's shallow of me, but he sure is handsome.

3. He should talk. But he should try not to step on another speech.
That's the only downside to this bruhaha today. That speech was great but it's not getting coverage, even after Obama had to distance himself from the remarks.

Now, I think they make a great team with Clark attacking and Obama moderating. They should just be a bit more careful about timing in the future.

That is all.

17. and this is a big deal
the Obama campaign has always been wonderful about message discipline, and playing with the bullshit press today takes them off message. That is the best rationale I have to disagree with those who think this is a game of chess and I don't get it: there is no reason Obama would schedule a major address today about patriotism--the thing that has hounded him throughout the campaign--only to have the coverage concern something else.

That said, people I respect disagree with me strongly about this, so...

19. Yeah, that's my problem with it, too. I think it's something
that may have been discussed between them but not necessarily something they intended to do before the speech.

8. Clark throws the punch...
...to see if McCain can counter it. If it's countered or doesn't get traction, no one will notice or remember by November if Obama distanced himself from it or not. If it scores a hit, then that opens the way for us Democrats to beat up McCain's only real advantage: his perceived status as a war hero.

Keep it up, Wesley.

32. Clark was right.
Pilots do not make strategic decisions. While we regret his captivity and honor his service; being president is another matter. Here, Judgment is important. McCain never had to make the big strategic decisions a Commander in Chief must make. / In fact considering his hot headed nature and the suffering McCain had to withstand, I'd go a step further. / what happened to McCain might very well disqualify him to be president. We need a cool head under pressure. Not someone who might very well suffer from some hidden post traumatic disorder.

10. He has every right to speak his mind as anyone else does
I wouldn't mind hearing more quite frankly. It's ridiculous to assume that we should all question Obama's experience while McCain's experience is off limits. For once, I'm happy not to be playing by their rules.

20. What He's Really Doing Is Speaking Obama's Mind! I LOVE IT!
Obama can't say shit about McCain so they roll Wes out there to attack. It is very hard for the Corpo Media WHORES to cap on Wes so the story loses a bunch of the blow-back it would have generated if Obama said the same, but it delivers a KO punch to McLame.

That is what is pissing the Corpo's off. They are being out maneuvered by smarter people. They are livid at that fact.

13. IMHO, He just went about it wrong. He should have NEVER said
that being shot down doesn't qualify him. Even though that is totally true, it is the only thing that
the press and McCain has glommed on.

He should have totally concentrated on the fact that McCain has not really led any military action.
And, no one points this out - but as far as homeland security -- McCain voted AGAINST searching
incoming cargo searches. He also voted AGAINST state of art technology for first responders -
which was lacking at the WTC - and people died because of it.

22. Clark's effect
is rather unique. he says breathtakingly confrontational, simple things that the MSM can't handle. Even if it SEEMED he had gone 'too far" his clear statements are exactly those words the MSM never wants to repeat, even in criticism. They have a harsh unforgiving teflon with authority. This would be true of every Clark interview compared to the occasional slams of others or the "gaffes" that lead to apologies for inconsistency.

They do not want to give this guy air time or let these ideas get out to the public, because all their spin and argument do nothing once the truth bomb is dropped and the idea remembered.

24. He shoulda thrown in McDaddy's 894/899 class rank too.
That DEFINITELY does not qualify you to be president either.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McCain

McCain had conflicts with higher-ups, and he was disinclined to obey every rule, which contributed to a low class rank (894/899) that he did not aim to improve.<10><12><13><14> McCain did well in academic subjects that interested him, such as literature and history, but studied only enough to pass subjects he disliked, such as math.<5> McCain graduated in 1958.<10>

Then have him go out and keep making them, just the way he did this time: reasonably and without personal rancor.

for the less erudite:

pro·bos·cis (pr-bss)
n. pl. pro·bos·cis·es or pro·bos·ci·des (-bs-dz)
1. A long flexible snout or trunk, as of an elephant.
2. The slender, tubular feeding and sucking organ of certain invertebrates, such as insects, worms, and mollusks.
