Obama turning grey.
Looking good to me! :)

Barack Obama: US election campaign is turning me grey

A month before his 47th birthday, the Illinois senator admitted to donors last week that "the grey is coming quick".

"By the time I'm sworn in, I will look the part," he added.

The Democratic party presidential candidate takes excellent care of himself.

He drinks little alcohol, favours herbal teas over caffeine and exercises rigorously almost every morning.

He has been photographed with his two young daughters cycling around his neighbourhood in Chicago.

But observers said that the longest and toughest primary campaign in living memory had taken its toll on Mr Obama, whose features grew heavier during his battle for the Democratic Party's nomination.

The process is only likely to be speeded up if he makes it to the White House.

However, some analysts argued that appearing slightly more advanced in his years would benefit his campaign, especially against the white-haired Senator John McCain, who is several decades his senior.

Howard Bragman, a veteran Hollywood public relations executive told Politico.com: "A little roughness around the edges, a few grey hairs and a little wrinkles around his face enhances" his presidential stature.

Can you EVER see them saying that about a woman?

7. I hope it's a natural grey ...
... that "faux-grey" ain't cheap to do. Repubs would jump all over a $400 haircut & color.

8. Give the man a break
He's got 2 young kids and is running a campaign.
Without the campaign, he'd still have gray hair.

I'll say this; kids will age you.

9. this was all part of the plan too
to start letting a little grey out and adding the extra, unexpected bit of subliminal gravitas towards the end.
he's using the indirect touch, lulls his enemies into underestimating him and then comes on strong on the unexpected flank.
Obama is a political genius. period.

10. It's a great pr story! Thumbs up!
But seriously, I hope he is not smoking. Nothing ages African-Americans like smoking. If they do not smoke, their skin stays young forever. But if they smoke, they get wrinkles.

BTW, nicotine is more addicting to Black Africans, because their livers clear it faster so they have a more rapid fall in levels and it is the withdrawal that causes cravings and the need for the next cigarette.

11. It's probably the stress of the campaign I'm sure
his life has got to be hectic. It wouldn't be too surprising if he was all grey haired by next Janurary. He should get some of that Just for Men stuff and dye his hair.

18. Look how much the presidency aged the last few occupants
...and factor in the extra issues Obama has to deal with with regard to his race and his personal safety as well as that of his family, plus the fact that he's running two very challenging back-to-back campaigns.

I hope 'body man' Reggie Love is keeping plenty of Nicorette and relaxation herbal tea on hand for him, but I'm sure Reggie is more than earning his money!

13. I've noticed that too, esp. on the Rolling Stone cover
it looks very distinguished on him. McLame can forget throwing that "youth" bullshit at it him now.

I'm not saying where a majority of those gray hairs came from, but no doubt the stress of the primary season between Feb and June caused a majority of them.

17. I got my first gray hair at age 20.
I've been happy to blame it on the son that was born when I was 19.

I quit covering the gray in my mid 30s. I'm a year older than Obama, and I have significantly more gray hair than he does. My students think I'm 20 years older than I am, and the girls constantly ask me why I don't dye my hair to cover it.

Why does it matter? Why is the U.S. so obsessed with youth and surface appearances that gray hair makes a difference? And why is the U.S. so damned sexist that gray hair on a man looks great and builds status, but a woman of the same age is constantly pressured to cover it up?

What kind of moronic nation are we, to think that presidential stature is determined by cosmetic features?

22. his hands are amazingly youthful. and elegant.
I remember in 04 he looked so youthful, like a kid who had just graduated from law school, and his voice lacked the depth and resonance it has now. He's also gotten some pretty deep nasolabial wrinkles, but he's still very handsome.
