4. I think he made the decision while in Montana.
Perhaps he discussed it with Governor Schweitzer? And they came to the conclusion that John Kerry would be an excellent choice. Very strong military credentials and respected around the world.

5. Either just before the convention, at the convention, or shortly after the convention.
Just my guess. I don't see why he should be in any hurry about it. He needs to establish his OWN identity to the U.S. public for awhile before he throws another personality in the mix, imho.

6. I have a feeling it'll be just before the Convention...or right after it
Isn't there a history though of a Presidential candidate and his VP being together at the Convention?

8. Actually, Obama has probably already picked the VP, but I
interpreted the question to mean when will Obama announce his VP pick -- and I think he will wait until closer to the election.

9. You're Right
I'll edit, if it's not too late. I think he should probably wait till shortly after mccain announces his choice (nomentum).
The sooner, the better.

10. i think he'll wait until after the first vice presidential debate
that way mitt romney (or whatever immoral douchebag mccorpse chooses) will have to debate himself.

11. Other: The day after McCain announces his.
As a caveat, if McCain waits too long and squanders his chance to pick up the "Clinton swing voters", Obama can announce any time.

The thought is this: Obama announces a white male VP. McCain panders to the on-the-fence Clinton voters by picking a woman.

I don't think that McCain really wants a female VP, but he might do it if Obama announced a male VP first.
