When will Obama announce his VP choice? |
|
Is it possible he'll wait until the convention? Th?at would certainly be a departure from the usual practice. Will he wait until after McInsane announces his pick? Is it important that he announce weeks before the convention in order to introduce people to the ticket? Will it be sooner or later? I don't have a clue as to who it will be. I'm sure of only one thing: It will be someone with serious foreign policy cred.

at the convention by the presidential nominee (or ocassionally by the convention itself--last time was 1956 when Adlai Stevenson threw it open to the convention). Since our convention isn't until the end of August it's entirely possible that we have to wait at least another month or more. My guess is that McCain will wait until after Obama selects his to announce his choice. This is the only suspenseful thing left to be decided at either convention so maybe they will wait to add a little more interest in the conventions? I don't think it's important to announce it anytime soon.

5. I had thought it would be someone with the foreign policy experience. |

Now, I think it could be someone with economic experience. Maybe a Governor that did well with a big state budget.
As for timing? I think he and McM$M are waiting each other out right now. But, Obama will call first. He will get out in front of it. They will both be expecting a bump from the announcements. Obama will get more attention regardless of when it is done.
If he can wait until after McM$M announces, he can pull the attention. Before it he can overshadow it, and plan for more news on grampy's day.
I say before the end of July, maybe next week.

To capture the news cycle for a week or two before the convention. Then a week of convention talk leading up to the convention.
