Why are we losing the email wars???? |
|
As I was cleaning out my inbox of the junk. I saw one email about what a great and wonderful woman Cindy McCain is. I deleted another about how Obama is secretly a Muslim and another about how much better McCain is than Obama. I got to wodering, why is it that the right wing repukes have the monopoly on viral emails? Why isn't there liberal versions? Why isn't there one talking about that "amazing lady" Cindy McCain's criminal actions (stealing drugs from a charity). Why isn't there one pointing out how poorly prepared McCain is to lead our nation or how the key to his economic plan is to win the two wars and use the money saved from that? Why isn't there emails going around touting what great person Obama is, or Michell?
Why is it that the liberals/left have completely surrendered the chain email arena to the right???? Why give up this powerful tool?

2. Some people do, otherwise we wouldn't need spam filters |
|
because there would be no incentive to send it. Since it tends to be done in a chain like fashion, I suspect the reading rate is much higher than spam. Besides if it didn't have an impact, Obama wouldn't have to have a website devoted to debunking the rumors these emails create.

3. Nomad, I think the people naive enough to forward that stuff tend to be conservatives, period. |
|
Liberals generally don't fall for email spam and hoaxes.
It's the conservatives in my family, for instance, who are STILL forwarding the idiotic hoax that Bill Gates will pay you for forwarding that email. One has forwarded different copies of that hoax at least four times, despite being directed to sites like Snopes.
It's also usually the conservatives who'll forward the idiot chain letters saying that if you don't forward them within a certain period of time to a certain number of people, you'll have bad luck.
(And no, I am not suggesting that we try to start viral emails that are pro-Obama and anti-McCain and include notes that Bill Gates will pay you for forwarding the mail, and you'll have bad luck if you don't forward it.)

6. Considering Bush won the white house in 2004 |
|
after all he did after stealing the office, in 2000, I think the conservatives are targetting the large number of gulliable people in the middle.

26. Bush didn't win in 2004 -- it was stolen by multiple methods. |
|
But each method seemed insignificant, so the Democrats caved. After a long investigation, the different methods were compiled and it was clear that the election had been stolen. Obama has clearly been generating huge funding from the internet so I think it's safe to say he's figured out how to get his message to Liberal internet users.

Today's "proved" how high gas prices are the fault of the Democrats. I just don't have time to write rebuttals to all this crap and I know people are paying attention to them.

And we aren't that.
When you're plan consists of "continuing the Bewsh method that made this country great" . . . well, who really NEEDS to spam? I think McClown shoots himself in the foot just fine without our help.

it's the lack of mail itself, not the lying that is our failing.

22. I don't get them often but when I do I reply to everyone on the list, with the facts to dispute |
|
I recently got the one from an old friend back in a Cali, shes a repub, but it was the one with all Obamas book quotes totally taken out of context. So I sent to everyone on her email list the snopes version. I got back a couple from her repub friends, with a "I agree" "Wow I didn't know that" and one from her that said "Thanks for sharing" LOL.

24. Because fear of change is greater than hope for a vague whatever |
|
Perhaps if the planks were more obvious, we'd have more of a groundswell, but then for that to happen, our candidate would have to stop being on both sides of critical issues.
There's plenty that Obama seems to believe in that would sell very well with enough people, but he's somehow convinced of the Clintonesque middle-running bait-and-switch technique.

The right has only to release these into the wild, and they multiply. Most folks have insufficient patience to wade through a mere factual debunking, and won't bother to pass it along.
