my epiphany
I've had an epiphany.

I've been keeping up with all of the conflict going on here and have to admit, it is quite entertaining. Alot has happened, and alot of people are frustrated and angry at Obama. It has become clear to me why people are so upset, and it has less to do with Obama than I originally thought.

Our government is currently in shambles. You know it and I know it. We have laws in place now that shouldn't be there but because of our current administration, the religious right, and the all powerful media, they are there. So what do we do now coach? I have come up with three potential solutions.

1. The lucrative answer is to revolt against the administration. Establish a new government and a new constitution. That's just not going to happen, nor should it. There is nothing so wrong with our government that we can't fix it ourselves.

2. Second, some magical messiah could swoop in with a magic pen and fix everything in a matter of days. Yep, that isn't going to happen either.

3. Someone could come in and start piece by piece, inch by inch, and restore things to the way they were before this shit storm. Hmm, that may be a plausible solution. But this one has it's problems as well. Since most people are really wanting 1 or 2, they don't want to settle for 3. Every time I see Obama try and fix something he sees broken (with just a senatorial position mind you), there is inevitably someone that just isn't satisfied. Like in Oliver when the orphan says "please sir, can I have some more?".

That leads to my epiphany. No matter what Obama does, it won't satisfy all the people all the time. There will be someone out there that wanted just a bit more than what he gave. He could amend the FISA bill to ensure accountability, but some will say he should have gotten rid of the whole thing. He could amend a bill to ensure accountability of funds going out to public service or religious organizations, but there will be some who say "separation of church and state at all costs!". Regardless of the outcry, the fact that he is doing something and giving us back something speaks volumes to me.

But then again, I remember who took those things from me in the first place. And I refuse to blame Obama for trying to fix them. Nor will I stand by quietly while those who have took those things from us attempt to remain in power and continue the cycle. I will debate any issue, and I will agree to disagree on many of them. Hell, I will even admit when I'm wrong. But I will ALWAYS support Obama over McCain. He has proven himself to me.

1. That's it exactly
And it's worse when people aren't being told the whole truth about what the things that are making them angry in the first place.
