MSNBC will "monitor" Obama's speech and bring us the "highlights"?
Edited on Tue Jul-08-08 03:10 PM by NattPang
We are so fortunate
to have MSNBC
monitoring the candidates
and what they say
for us. :sarcasm:

But if I had a choice
in the matter,
I would prefer monitoring
the speeches myself.

Why doesn't MSNBC
allow us to see
the whole speeches
from each candidates?

MSNBC could show
their selected
highlighted parts
during Hardball,
Race to the White House,
Countdown,
verdict,
and tomorrow AM on Morning Joes.

Why is MSNBC controlling
what I see of each candidates?

It isn't like they are talking
about anything
most of the time.

1. CNN usually carries Obama's speeches online in their entirety.

19. OMG, as a George Clooney freak I just LOVED your pic!
Have you seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZ09LAz1Q_4

I saw a shortened version of it when I was in Italy in May.

So cool.

20. Thank you! That's so cool. He has just the greatest sense of humor about
himself (which makes him even more attractive). I love those overseas commercials!

22. Are there any more with him in them?
Edited on Tue Jul-08-08 07:31 PM by CTyankee
I'd love to see them. This one seemed to be pretty much encompassing Europe (I saw it several times in hotels in major cities in northern Italy, such as Turin, Bologna and Venice).

I have to say that my son resembles George Clooney so I am prejudiced. But I think my 2 sons in law and my daughter, plus my son, are all pretty much Clooney fans. I think the guys are a bit more fascinated by him because of his attraction to women here in the U.S.

What do you think?

7. Yeah, but...
Not everyone is connected to the internet.

IMO the networks (not just cable networks) should show these speeches in their entirety. Cable can show the speeches live, and let the broadcast networks tape them and air them later -- in their entirety.

3. That pissed me off too.
They always do that. I switched to CNN and they did the same thing... gave us a few minutes of the live speech.

If the networks would just let the public see these candidate speeches in their entirety, the voters can make their decisions based on what the candidates say... not on what the MSM tell them they said.

Grrrrr!

5. You would think a 24 hour "news" channel would have time to play the whole speech.
Edited on Tue Jul-08-08 03:12 PM by Connie_Corleone
Or do they have too much "reporting" to do on Christie Brinkley's divorce?

8. I agree, why can't they show McCain's and Obama's speeches in full?
Not like they have anything of substance to say.

9. They're idiots
MSNBC is so full of themselves that they think their talking heads and airhead news readers are a better use of airtime than showing real speeches made by the candidates. Their desire to filter everything to the max is killing the channel.

whole Obama event at 4:30 on C-Span 3 according to a post I just read.

12. MSNBC
Plus they often report on things that should be covered by local news and not national news. They think 24 hour coverage Is talking heads talking. And with the exception of Countdown I don't care
what the talking heads say.

bears running loose in a neighborhood, etc.

11. MSNBC really should monit.......err take the pulse of their candidate
Edited on Tue Jul-08-08 03:30 PM by nc4bo
We know OUR candidate is alive and well.

We can handle the speeches perfectly fine all by ourselves, we are adults after all. I'd also like to assure msnbc that just because I get the warm, fuzzies for KO, doesn't mean that I get the warm fuzzies for them.

I humbly ask that MSNBC, their sisters, brothers and backwoods cousins that i do not need my hand held, I am aware that if I touch a glowing red stove that it will be hot and I am perfectly capable of going to the toilet and washing my hands all by myself.

Their helpfulness and parental concern has been duly noted, it is not appreciated and they can take a hike straight off the Niagara Falls.

16. He is Too Good a Speaker
If the MSM allows Obama's speeches to be televised, then it wouldn't be a "horse race" any longer
and they won't be able to claim that McInsane "won" and have anyone believe it.

Most Americans will only see Obama chopped up into 30-second bits or less, while the RW pundits will "analyze" it all for us for hours at a time. :(

18. the obama camp can pay for a full length infommercial on MSNBC if it wants. A campaign speech by
anybody is hardly news in that sense. Same goes for McCain or anybody else.
