Will Obama campaign in Utah next?
I can understand wanting to expand the map but I would not be spending too much time in states that have went GOP by more than 20% in past elections. Parking his bus in MO, CO, NM, IA, NV, OH, etc might be a more productive focus.

1. Did he make an announcement that he was going to Utah?
Maybe he is also trying to help
candidates in district and national races
to give us a larger majority?

3. I believe he's got campaign offices in all 50 states
I think it would be great to see him show up in even the reddest of states. There are Dems in all 50 states, even Utah. I think they'd like to be acknowledged once in a while. Certainly, he should spend a whole lot of time and effort in places like UT. But him showing up and helping the down-ticket races would be great.

6. I don't see it
But I think I read somewhere that he sent a couple of paid staffers there to register voters and boost turnout, which would have a nice down-ticket effect.

7. If he does go to Utah, he should visit Alaska first.
It has a better chance of going blue.

12. You know what would be a great idea for Alaska?
To have a midnight "Change" rally. Ha! Since the sun sets super late there in the summer it would still be light out wouldn't it? Imagine the press coverage and the visuals!

9. It's not only about this year, or downtickets.
Although that is a big part of the 50-State Strategy.

It is about turning states to the Democrats. If we can bring it down to a 15% gap this time, in 2010, we can build on it, and put even more in play in 2012 and beyond.

It is how we can call CO, VA, NM, NV and others Swing states this year. Work was done in the past.

13. Wow...nice way to attack Obama for his....non plans!
You ask if he is going to campaign in Utah... then you show your "concern" over his non announced non-existent plans to campaign in Utah. What exactly is the purpose of your post?

Why don't you support the nominee... instead of attacking him for things your speculating about him doing.

14. Look at the polls, he's beating McGramps in Montana
And North Dakota and Alaska are pretty close. In economics there's a concept called diminishing marginal returns, meaning that after you spend so much money on one thing you get less return. Campaigning only in the very close states makes sense if you had as little money as Kerry did in 2004. Because Obama can outspend McGramps 2 to 1 he will get more for his buck by spreading out the map.

Look, if it's as close as they say it is then he should go for it.
