POLL: Have Obama's Centrist Policy Policy Declarations Surprised You? (OpEdNews)
Have Obama's Centrist Policy Policy Declarations Surprised You?

Did you think Obama was a progressive or did you see him, from the beginning as a centrist moderate? If you saw him as a centrist moderate from the beginning, then his positions will not be as big a surprise as if you saw him as a progressive from the beginning.

- I'm not surprised. I knew Obama was a centrist. I'm supporting Obama.
- I'm disappointed. I thought Obama would be more progressive. I'm still supporting Obama.
- I'm not surprised. I knew Obama was a centrist. I'm supporting someone else.
- I'm disappointed. I thought Obama would be more progressive. I'm Not supporting Obama.

1. E. Some of the stances that the media is calling centrist aren't centrist and
he has had most of these stances for years.

This shit is a push poll.

3. Where would you place them?
And who defines the "center?"

I perceived him as a centrist from the beginning which is why he was my last choice in the primaries. I believe I may have thrown out a few little cautionary warnings here and there that he was most likely not going to be a progressive messiah, but mostly I kept my mouth shut because I don't like getting flamed.

ed. But of course I will be voting for him. There's no other choice.

9. He's pragmatic
He's progressive but he's not an ideologue. He is willing to work with others to get stuff done. This is abundantly clear in the Audacity of Hope and nobody should be surprised considering how he always talks about unity. I've always felt that Obama was the most authentic of the major Democratic candidates because he has stayed consistent. It's partly why I never fully bought Edwards or Clinton.
