As for the news about John not being Barack's VP, he's too talented to be in the shackles of what the VP's role should be.

1. I'm getting the idea that getting the VP nod is like a game of musical chairs

and the loser "wins." I do hope one of the many fine Democrats Obama has to choose from is okay with it. Maybe we should chip in for a jet ski to sweeten the deal. :)

As for the video, it was one of several that I shot of the two of them and they really are/were solid Dems.

I only wish John had voted his original judgment on the war... as for Ted, I always have a few tears reserved to shed for him no matter what happens next in his life's chapters.

From his many comments - Kerry clearly shares your wish - I also wish though that people remembered that he was one of the voices against invading in early 2003 once the inspecters were in. (I wonder if he would have had no health problems and had spoken against going to war at the DNC California event in 2003 saying what he had at Georgetown - if things would have been different on perception. It really is sad as it distanced him from some who could have been his biggest fans.)

7. The problem is they don't want to remember.

They don't want to remember what he said or that he was actually against the war.

They only remember that the only thing that matters (unfortunately) is the IWR vote and whether you voted yes or no. And if you voted no, you are cool, if not, vice versa. And people still hold that against Kerry for that reason. I wish he would have just voted no, but I guess he was running for pres and Bush invaded anyway. :shrug: I still wish he stood with the senior senator on the war thing, but that's hindsight.

I do agree with your post though.

9. Kerry promised investigations of Bush in the senate, and this time he'll have a cooperative Dem WH

to work WITH not against his efforts to expose BushInc.

This is why I want him in the senate this goround. Plus, Durbin and Kerry are going to be Obama's go to guys in the senate when it comes to getting things done. They are both strong workhorses.
