Charlie Crist has announced his engagement..
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 08:41 AM by Virginia Dare
after nearly 30 years of being a bachelor. Hmmm, ya think there might be a good reason for that? He and McCain can be the trophy wife ticket.

Edited to deflate him from messiah-hood.

2. That's "Crist"
Though he may add an extra "h" to his surname if he becomes veep nominee, in order to woo the Southern vote.

3. oopsie, I'll fix it..
I rarely concern myself with correct spelling of these dirtbag's names though. You're right, he probably welcomes that comparison.

12. If his name was Sathan and you'd accidentally omitted the "h"...
...I probably wouldn't have bothered to correct it either.

4. Next he'll be taking that course Ted Haggart took to stop liking boys.
I don't care that Crist is gay, but I do care that once again a high visibility Republican gets to act as if he's not a walking, talking rejection of the entire GOP anti gay themes.

9. As long as they keep off the subject of the environment, they're not too bad
I'm not a big fan of libertarianism per se, but the only issue where they really make my blood boil is the amount of credence they give to global warming deniers, at a time when even Exxon Mobil is being forced to admit that they've lost that argument.

6. Hilarious. It's like watching the machinations of the
film industry of the 1950's, desperately trying to "un-gay" their star.

10. I think everyone knew Rock Hudson was gay even then
I seem to remember seeing a documentary, The Celluloid Closet, that mentioned what a joke he was among gay men.

11. I think the gay community probably knew a lot more
than your typical straight movie goer. I remember asking my Mom(who is 70) if she han any inclination that Rock Hudson was gay,she didn't.The movie industry still operates as if we exist in a different era and I'm sure many in the gay community are aware of movie stars in this era who are still in the closet.Handsome leading men are,for the most part, never gay in real life(I mean that sarcastically).

8. 5th Engagement
He now just gets 'engaged' whenever he's running for office. What a tragedy to be in such deep denial and in a party that will destroy you if you emerge.

14. He is sooo going to be McSame's vp pick.
His young trophy wife is going to be proof for all the freepers that Crist isn't gay. They'll probably hold his honeymoon bedsheets up after the first night, just like in the old days.
