I Can't Wait Until this Idiot Bush is Out of Office (FISA THREAD)
Let's not forget people, with regards to FISA, the fight isn't over yet. If Obama becomes President...he has REPEAL power! Don't forget that. I see too many posts on DU with people running around like chickens with their heads cuts off. Obama was going to lose this fight if he voted NAY, it was going to pass regardless because the Dem Party as a whole right now is spineless and worthless in many ways in standing up to Bush. The Rethugs don't give a damn what people think about them, maybe that's a page we need to take from their playbook.

So let Bush have his meaningless little victory, if you want to pressure Obama, do it AFTER he becomes President and actually has control of the fucking country! Obama can't do a damn thing as of right now, so there's no use bitching and moaning on a message board like you're some kind of liberal savior of liberty. More level-headed people know that.

3. Institutions do not give up power...
They might choose not to use it, but they do not give up power. That is why you never give it to them in the first place... It is too late.

5. 2006 all over again...
Remember all of the great things that would happen once we got a Democratic Majority in both houses of Congress? The FISA Amendment is the latest example of how we got repaid for our votes and our efforts.
Obama has never promised to scuttle this bill after he gets into the White House. In fact, he came out in support of the bill, other than the telecom immunity part. So why do you think he will scuttle the law after he becomes president?

Obama will be the next president of the United States. This is a glimpse at what to expect when he gets there.

7. Presidents don't have repeal power. bush's victory isn't meaningless, it puts
Americans at risk of warrantless snooping and it negates years of work by litigants who are trying to enforce their constitutional rights and their commercial contracts with the telecom companies.

8. If he was going to repeal it
then why did he vote for it? That doesn't make sense.

10. Sorry. I find your reasoning lame.
I haven't heard one good excuse yet for Obama voting for this unconstitutional shit.

14. So his vote is not used as a "pro-terra" bludgeon for the next 4 months.

Some folks will still amazingly be influenced by the media when it comes to the FISA bill. I see no reason for all of the BS attacks on our nominee on this board.

Instead of wetting our pants over what they might say about us, let's, oh, I don't know, fight back against their bullshit?

16. He'll win the Presidency, then he can be a force in changing this.
Nothing will change with Bush in office. Or McCain, for that matter.

17. So we are supposed to "ignore" this vote? If he didn't
want to be "bludegeoned with it" he should have voted aginst it and in support of the consittution.

18. I said he'd be bludgeoned with a no vote, pay attention.
I realize you can't stand Obama, perhaps you'll get what you want on Nov. 4th. Good luck.
