3. Because he's campaigning for President and wasn't there to vote?
Just a guess... correct me if I'm wrong.

McCain Is In Ohio Promoting Bush-Style Policies That Jeopardize Ohio’s Economy

Today McCain will be in Pittsburgh, PA; and Portsmouth, OH. In his visits to three states particularly hard-hit by the Bush economy, McCain will only offer Americans more of the same Bush economic policies responsible for Americans’ economic struggles — more of rising unemployment, sluggish wage growth, and rising cost of living. And even as Americans struggle economically, McCain, like Bush, will support trade policies that help big corporations at the cost of American workers.

After 8 years of Bush economics, America’s families are hurting — and McCain’s policies would lead to more of the same.

* Jobs numbers have fallen for six straight months. At 5.5 percent nationally, unemployment remains at afour-year high. In Ohio, unemployment is 5.6 percent. In Michigan, it’s 6.9 percent.

* Oil reached a new record high price last week while the cost of everything from food to health care is rising and millions of Americans are at risk of losing their homes.

* Workers’ weekly paychecks are growing at a rate of only 2.8 percent – a nearly three-year low — while inflation is around 4 percent, meaning that workers’ wages aren’t keeping up with the cost of living.
