Poll question: Jackson attack: Accident or Brilliant plan?
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 06:04 PM by mckeown1128
I am sad that this furthers the damage to Jesse Jackson's reputation. He has been for better or worse a leader of the African American community. I firmly believe that if it weren't for Jackson pounding away at the glass ceiling of presidential politics Obama would not have broken through. Obama clearly has learned some important lessons from Jackson's runs for president.

That said this situation is a clear help to Obama's campaign. Jackson unfortunately scares conservatives and white "don't pay attention till October 31st" idiot independents. Rush, Hannity, and Fox News goons have been trying desperately to paint Obama as the "scary racist black guy." And Obama being attacked for not being in touch with the black community from the most controversial(unfortunately) figure in the black community completely undermines the GOP game plan. Thank GOD!!

This only could have happened 2 ways. One Jackson made a HUGE mistake talking his mind in a fox studio and trusting that FOX wouldn't be taping him. (They probably do that to every liberal that walks in... "tttruuusttt us your mic is off..hehe"}

Or it is a brilliant plan by the Obama campaign. Brilliant.

I personally think it was an accident. I would the think Obama campaign wouldn't want to risk something like this being exposed.

10. You should think about getting a TV.
Why don't you have one? There's a lot of great stuff on TV these days...

11. 1) poverty 2) don't like TV
What little good stuff there is always ends up on disc.

Not that I care anymore - I'm amusing myself by picturing Jesse with a pancake on his head, so I'm good - but it would be helpful to us DU poll smokers from around the globe to post a video link. That was my only point.

7. oTHER: CANDID MOMENT caught on film for the ages.
I've been trying to understand WHY it is ok for white voters to see Bill Clinton choose Sister Souljah as a target to make a stand or want Obama to renounce, reject, repudiate every black or white person to make racial statements they disagree with.

What is that about?

It is a fantasy where the white voter places themselves in the candidates position and wish they could tell a black person or black people the same or similar things?

I find it inauthentic. How is Jackson's comment and later apology work to make Obama more likeable to white people? The enemy of my enemy is my friend?

FaIL.
