Kucinich has three dogs, Edwards has two retrievers and Biden has a cat
Edited on Wed Jul-09-08 09:41 PM by zulchzulu
Since we're discussing how previous Presidential candidates voted on the FISA bill today in what would be more appropriate in the General Forum rather than the Presidential Forum, why not refresh our memories on what pets each candidate has since it should be equally as relevant:

Joe Biden: Delaware Senator
1 cat

Hillary Rodham Clinton: New York Senator
1 dog: Seamus (Labrador retreiver)

Chris Dodd: Connecticut Senator
None: States family’s allergies as the issue, but said would like a dog.

John Edwards: Former North Carolina Senator
2 dogs: A Golden retriever, and a chocolate Labrador retriever

Dennis Kucinich: Ohio Representative
3 dogs: Harry (beagle-basset), Lucie (beagle), and George (cocker spaniel).

Barack Obama: Illinois Senator
None: Says he’s facing pressure to get a dog from the kids.

Bill Richardson: New Mexico Governer
2 cats: Jake, and Squeaky

Perhaps we can argue why they chose their particular pet, who has the best pet or why Barack Obama doesn't have a pet. It appears it would be as relevant as to how previous Presidential candidates voted on issues. As long as these candidates are potential VP choices, perhaps their pet choice or lack of one should be vetted and analyzed.

1. The best candidate is the one with the most cats.
So it should be Richardson, of course.

No wonder they were my second and first choices respectively. (Dog people are good people - with some rare exceptions.)

10. Goldens rock while beagles can be a little barky
Dennis must have a lot of fun watching a couple beagles yap while the cocker spanial just wants to run its ass off. John must have a blast with the Goldens, who are usually just fantastic animals...

I have a lab/border collie mix that would love to play with any of them...

16. The Edwards' have the propertry and family situation that's perfect for two retrievers.
I'm certain the Golden (even more than the Lab) is enormously comforting to Elizabeth and both are great with the kids. With the land around their home, they should all get more than enough exercise ... fetching, catching frisbees, and just romping with the younger kids.

Dennis is wise to match those three ... the beagles really do well with company (other dogs) and the Cocker can grab rest time while the beagles tumble. He lives in the near suburbs, so they don't have the outdoor space the Edwards' have ... or the 'small person' playmates.

12. Oh great. Something ELSE to worry about. (*sigh*)
I can't take it anymore. Here I thought it was all a done deal, Obama won the primaries, all we have to do is win the election in November.

But, NOOOOOOOOoooooooooo. He has all these flaws, you see. And they must be pointed out repeatedly. And an infinite number of threads must be started in order to MAKE SURE we are all informed of those things about which we should be taking umbrage. Because if we DON'T, we have proven that we don't CARE with the exquisitely careful caring that the thread starters have evinced.

And NOW I have to care about the pet thing. (*sob*) I don't know if I can do it. I'm just... sorry... I'll try to pull myself together... (*shudder*) (*sniff*)

Oh, fuck it. I DON'T CARE! All I want is for Obama to win the election.

I know, I know -- I'm a bad person.

(note to zulchzulu -- I totally get that your post is satire, I've just gone over the edge. I beg your indulgence. :) )
